I'm sure that @Sexyfootball was quite neutral and balanced in his question because the bot hasn't written anything about how unfair our best LW Raheem Sterling has been treated and how soon he should be reinstated 😜

Similarly when he asked what were the benefits of having Enzo Fernandez as the creative midfielder and the metronome by which the Chelsea team maintains its attacking tempo, he is still waiting for the results.......

Moises Caicedo, Enzo Fernandez and Levi Colwill are all seeking discussions over improved contract terms.

Don’t know why an injured Colwill is demanding fresh contracts, always knew the PSG links was a cover for a new contract demand, and IMO only Caicedo deserves an improved one.

I reckon this is where their model falls apart. Caicedo can’t be playing for £180k/w while Rice is on £250k/w.

Man city are probably the only club who could afford Caicedo. Theyve not had a midfield enforcer since Fernandinho.

Colwill is pure profit and Real are supposedly interested in Fernandez. Shift those three on and its exactly what the model is all about for the board. theyd consider it a success.

This is one of the many flaws with the model. We won't sign these ready made players because they want massive wages. Well, what about when the best of our players want those wages? Do we just sell them and start again with another one? You won't be making much money long term doing that. And the project will never end, it'll just be right back to square one.

The Deloittle Money League has released its analysis for 2024/25

Although we have been informed that BlueCo knew so much more than anyone else about the financial side of the sport, this is yet another league we are failing in. Tottenham Hotspur should never be above us in any league. They made €90m more than us in revenue this year.

As an aside, this year's results further prove that a shiny new stadium is not the financial giant people think it is. Tottenham's boom has been driven almost entirely on commercial revenue, with matchday (stadium) revenue just €17m more than Stamford Bridge. Pretty paltry return for spending over 1bn.

Our club accounts for 23/24 had Total Turnover of £415m, so how have Deloitte arrived at a figure of €546m for 23/24 ? That's significantly above the currency conversion rates at the time ? (it would be equivalent to 1.32 Euros to 1 GBP, and it was bumping along about 1.15 in those years ... )

If they can't even get 23/24 right when they've already been published, how can their 24/25 numbers be trusted ?

Based on total revenue from all sources, not just turnover. The club's statement reports total revenue of £468.5m.

I mean Deloitte are a big 4 accounting firm, they have no idea what they are doing except robbing the public purse to make bullsh*t reports

Whereabouts did you see that £468.5m reported Sydney ?

I had a flick through the 23/24 accounts, and I can't see that number quoted anywhere in them ?

Sorry - hadn't realised that was a link.

OK so they seem to have this 468.5m against Chelsea FC Holdings Ltd ... and then we also have Chelsea Football Club Limited, which is what I was looking at in Companies House.

What's the source of the additional 53.5m ? Any idea ?

Brexit? £468.5m = €538.10

Still ~€7m missing. Could be a different exchange rate or maybe Eghbali begged Deloitte to round up to make him look better

No I meant the 415 that is in the accounts for Chelsea Football Club vs the 468.5 that is Chelsea FC Holdings.

I've been Googling, and answering my own question :

Chelsea FC Holdings = Chelsea Football Club + Chelsea FC Merchandising Ltd + Chelsea FC Women Ltd

Not included in the 415.0 (as that figure came from the entity described as Chelsea Football Club Limited) is 49.8 of commercial revenue and 3.7 of matchday revenue which presumably is against those other two parts of Chelsea FC Holdings (no idea why that would be separated out from Chelsea Football Club, but it is !). I'm guessing the 3.7 is the matchday receipts from Chelsea Women, and the 49.8 is perhaps from shirt sponsorship ... the 40m from Infinite Athlete, plus whatever the sleeves were etc etc.

Here is the Merchandising bit on Companies House : https://find-and-update.company-information.service.gov.uk/company/02779831/filing-history

This seems to be a company with just Goldstein and Eghbali as directors to run the merchandising (club shop) and stadium tours.

From the 23/24 accounts :

In October 2023, the company assumed management control of the onsite Chelsea FC Megastore merchandise operations that had previously been held by Nike Chelsea Merchandising Limited under a joint venture agreement.

It lists £30.7m turnover in 23/24.

And for completeness :

Chelsea FC Women Ltd https://find-and-update.company-information.service.gov.uk/company/07377729/filing-history

This has 3 directors - Eghbali, Boehly and Goldstein

Chelsea Football Club Ltd https://find-and-update.company-information.service.gov.uk/company/01965149/filing-history

Directors (as per 23/24 accounts) : D Barnard, T Boehly, B Charone, B Eghbali, J Feliciano, Lord D Finkelstein, J Goldstein, J Pade, M Walter, H Wyss, C Jurasek

Chelsea FC Holdings Ltd (the roll up of all the other three companies)

Let me start by saying to blue co fans (the number has clearly dwindled since 2 seasons ago), no we are not running magical negotiation tactic to convince player to sign contract with us, we are still paying top salary

Does that factor in that we have 3 times as many players as everybody else? ;)

I thought of you saying that as soon as I saw this year's graph!

How damning. For all we are told about the 'new model' set to reduce wages, we have achieved all of a 5% reduction in wages from the excesses of the Abramovich era. Keep in mind that 77% figure from 2020-21 is from our lowest COVID-hit revenue period.

That is precisely what it shows lol. Like @Bob stark said, we are not signing players for huge transfer fees but low wages despite what the media keep saying. We are signing players for huge transfer fees and above-average wages, and signing a lot of players to boot.

To put my comments above in context, we have reduced the wage-to-revenue ratio by just 5%, but the quality gap between our 2021 CL winning squad and our 'new model' current squad is a chasm. In other words, BlueCo's model is a colossal waste of money.
