June 6, 20206 yr Mine are Mario stanic v West ham, OMG, you would never see a more outrageous bit of technique all right foot (Also his debut for us) Essien v Arsenal, absolute physics defying screamer, outside of the right boot Haz v Arsenal, that absolute stunning solorun from Costas flick, coquelin on his Arse, dinked finish

Jimmy is one of my all time favourites but Flo’s hat trick came as I was getting in to watching football and the 6-1 at the Lane is a game that always sticks in my mind!

Whats importance got to do with it, i stated 3 Best league goals, i should of been more exacting with a definition, i really meant for the Wow factor, the Gosh, the OMG, otherwise i might of put lamps Goal that wrapped up the our first PL. most people might i would of thought, imagined i meant '3 Best Goals'

There are a few I go back and watch over and over again though. Crespo's goal vs Wigan. First game of the season, pretty much the last kick of the game, and he strikes the ball with his weaker foot perfectly into the top corner from 25 yards out. Hazard's goal vs Tottenham. Terrible season, but Hazard killing Tottenham's dreams of winning the Premier League with such a great goal felt amazing. Essien's goal vs Arsenal. We were losing at home after not losing for so long, and Essien hits on of the best shots I have ever seen. He knew it was going in as soon as he hit it. I could easily pick more though. Hazard's solo goals vs Arsenal, Liverpool and West Ham. Ramires solo goal vs Man City. Drogba's turn and half volley vs Liverpool. Lampard and Drogba's goals in the 3-2 win against Everton. Joe Cole goal against Man Utd. Tiago's goal vs Man Utd. Lampard's double to win us the title.
June 7, 20206 yr I'll take 3 unlikely sources .. all against Tottenham ... in consecutive seasons ? Gallas screamer PL 2005/6 Makelele screamer (!!!!!) PL 2006/7 Belletti screamer PL 2007/8 Would have liked to include Tiago's wonder strike against Manure, but that wasn't against Tottenham LOL
June 7, 20206 yr I always feel the most important goals are the 'best' goals. Personally Hazard's dinking run against Arsenal is just a display of different level player going past defeated squad.Essien's strike against Arsenal is incredible but it was just a draw in a dire moment of a season.I love Hazard's 3-1 goal against City when we made past the last obstacle. Superfast counter goal. There are tons of massive cup goals that I remember however.
June 7, 20206 yr Eidur gudjohnson overhead kick v leeds Schurle v Barnsley from an exquisite pass by Fabregas. Ashley Cole v Sunderland from an exquisite pass by John Terry. One other that just missed out was gus poyet volley v Sunderland from a gorgeous flick pass by Franco Zola. Edited June 7, 20206 yr by dkw

There are tons of massive cup goals that I remember however. For some reason Cup goals stand out more for me too. I'm thinking of Sheva against Spurs and Essien against Barca as two of the best I remember. But anyway thinking on it from pure aesthetics: 1. Drogba against Everton the turn and volley. 2. Hazard against Arsenal, the dribbles were just ludicrous. 3. The Essien swerve against Arsenal. Two others that stand out in my mind even though they may not have been the best 1. Zola v Everton. I think his last goal for the club. Captured him perfectly, outside of the right foot lob over the keeper from a ludicrous angle out on the left. 2. Lampard v Stoke. We were down 1-0 at home with less than 10 to go and then got it back to 1-1. Frank then lashed home the winner with his left from outside the box through a billion players after 4 minutes of stoppage time.
June 7, 20206 yr Gary Cahill vs spuds in Oct of 2012 Tomori vs Norwich of this season David Luis vs Fulham in 2013 all by defenders & all terrific shots - To be honest, we seen many by Chelsea over the Decades - IMO it's hard to come up with just 3 goals - I just came up with ones from Defenders - I know I could used this goal by Alex vs gooners in 2010

He really was an artist. I just watched the new Maradona documentary and you can see Zola picked up some tricks from him from their time together in Napoli.Numbers 2 and 3 are just works of art.
