Because seems weird that he essentially tried to engineer a move to Arsenal in January, only to sign a contract few weeks after when Brighton rejected his request. He obviously has a safety net of more money, but to sign a new contract and then end up in the position that Zaha has found himself in past few years wouldn't make sense unless there was some kind of clause. I think he is the real deal though.
May 21, 20233 yr It is 2023 and players like Declan Rice don't belong to top clubs fighting for major trophies. It is my view on his characteristics as a midfielder. Caicedo and Rice play the same position, but Caicedo looks way more comfortable on the ball and looks more versatile. Put Rice in the current Brighton formation, under De Zerbi's tactics and I think he would not look as good as Caicedo. Would not really struggle, but his rigid, industrial style would not fit în IMHO. If you want Mourinho tactics and counter attacking style, Rice is a good fit. But if you want something more elaborate then 100M for him would be a total waste. For me he is at most a 40M player.

I agree he is comfortable without the ball shielding the backline and then breaking to counter. That is his job at WHU but I think he could be a very good Matic to us. Remember the season we won, Matic was integral, maybe even our best player. I would love Rice to give Enzo the freedom to use his great shot. Now the balance between Kante and Enzo is a bit off. Kante does all that attacking leaving Enzo to build from the back. Rice is not even using all his skillset at WHU. He is such a talented footballer. His biggest strength on top of his footballing ability is his leadership ability. He is a natural leader. Enzo is as well but he is not speaking English yet.

Like Lukaku he's also a huge Chelsea fan right? How big or how much actually when he really and I mean really didn't care to even try coming here when Lampard (out of all people) wanted him so much during his first time as our manager. It was literally obvious that Lampard wanted him, both after the first season during the summer and also during the January transfer window as well... And Rice couldn't care less about it. When Mourinho went to Man United, Matic obviously wanted to play for him again and Jose himself openly said that those kinds of deals are much easier to make if the player himself is eager to come, now Matic even went to Roma to play for him. Rice didn't care to come, not even when one of our most legendary figures was sending him roses for a long time and that's your huge Chelsea fan there? Cmon now, actions speak louder than words, Rice doesn't give a f**k and it's more likely he'll join Spurs at some point. This whole thing how his family is now even insulted or angry at our club is just ridiculous as well. He's when all said and done a 50m player anyway, regardless if everyone at the club saw him as the "perfect partner to Enzo". I hear Liverpool is going to sign MacAllister, you know one of Enzo's partners in their World Cup title. Our board just invents things, Soucek would be also perfect for Enzo cause you know, he only plays without the ball so it balances out that Enzo actually knows how to play with, the ball... Makes no sense really, ah yes the perfect partnership needs to be the 100m and 120m partnership, otherwise there is no way we could ever make a midfield. Edited May 22, 20233 yr by Gol15

World Cup winner Enzo Fernandez is made to look like a poor man's Jorginho. That example alone is enough. Not even the big pay day anymore that made mercenaries like Sterling and Koulibaly join up. Youunes talked this morning of moving for Vini Jnr if he quits Spain over the racism storm. Do me a favour mate he won't come here when all the world's top sides will want him.

Why did Lampard come to the club, twice when we looked completely lost? Cause he's above all a fan of the club. So it only strengthens my point about Rice not really being this huge fan that everyone claim he is, think about it we look terrible and even in this state we're still better than West Ham!

Rice can get more money and play CL next season at United or Arsenal, club affection means nothing these days.

Not to him since it obviously it doesn't actually exist. Koulibaly for example, as underwhelming as he has been, has always wanted to come here regardless of any circumstances and he waited till he could. Kante can't play a full season and he still wants to stay regardless. I think Werner came to watch some of our matches even after he was sold. You can still find real affection even if things aren't perfect, Rice simply doesn't have it towards us. Edited May 22, 20233 yr by Gol15

Am sure Rice would come here if we offered him that, as.would Mount sign to stay.
May 22, 20233 yr We may still buy him, Boehly doesn't like to lose in a bidding war. He's not the priority signing like he was, Mount is more likely to go than stay, so there aren't that much going for him at Chelsea. Of course, he will get paid more than at Arsenal or Munich

Kante is a legend and yes has a huge connection with us but again, the wages he is earning for not playing a full season, anyone in his situation would be content.

Because it was an offer of a life time to manage Chelsea when you're a championship level manager, Rice literally has every top club after him. You can't compare a step up to manage Chelsea to a step down to play for us entering your prime.

Rice has done several interviews talking about his support for Chelsea, why would he do that and potentially piss off the entire West Ham fan base? What does he achieve? Rice couldn't care less? He flirted with us all summer and did everything except hand a transfer request in, which once again can be turned down and ruin his bond with West Ham fans. You have absolutely zero idea what conversations went on behind the scenes about him transferring here. Macallister and Soucek are both better box to box so are silly comparisons and no way 'perfect partners' for Enzo. Its very obvious you have a personal vendetta against Rice for some bizarre reason, fact is he'll be at a big club doing great things next season when it should have been with us.

You love Rice more than you love CFC, there is not a single thing that you were so passionately going on about than Rice and only you know to put the word "fact" and speak in the future tense about your own wishes for this player, about something that hasn't happen yet. I hope you understand just how ridiculous you sound, first you want to compare Rice to Kane that stayed at one club and now you're tippy-tapping and saying that it's a fact that he'll play for a big club, that's literally not a fact at all! If we ever sign Rice, I'll support him the same way I have hoped for a whole lot of transfers to work out, till then you got no right to call me having a personal thing against someone that isn't even our player, and specially not since you have done exactly that towards Jorginho from day 1 till half a year before the end of his 5th season! So in other words, you're a hypocrite that somehow loves to eat his own sh*t!

That is a ridiculous comparison. Lampard had no other big teams, let along prem teams wanting him as manager. Of course he was going to take the job. If you want to play devil's advocate, you could say when Lampard wasn't offered a contract, he wasted no time in joining a direct rival and the inevitable happened when he scored against us. Although I don't blame him for the move, if he was this total loyal player, would he have made the move? Rice has several top teams after him, Lampard doesn't, that is the difference. Ryan Mason will take the job if Spurs offer it to him despite the mess they are in. Why? Because no other prem team will go anywhere near him. Nothing about loyalty really.

Being from England i have several West Ham friends and all of them are ecstatic about being in the final and in no small part due to Rice. Go on, explain the hypocrisy.
May 30, 20233 yr https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/declan-rice-transfer-bayernmunich-arsenal-30106853 Bayern Munich are prepared to pay a staggering package worth £95million to land Declan Rice from West Ham. It has signalled the start of the battle for one of the most sought-after players in Europe this summer. Bayern, who retained their German title on Saturday, are determined to beat Arsenal to the signing of 24-year-old Rice. Wonder what all these European giants see in Rice, @Gol15 told me he wasn't very good.
