Declan Rice to Chelsea?

Good player but not the time for us to spend silly money when our priorities HAVE to be a top striker and a top keeper, neither of which are going to come cheap, so not even worth thinking about signing Rice.

That's my take on it too. Ignoring the modern day obsession with stats or average scores he is better than all our midfielders bar Kante and on a par with Enzo. But we have a major rebuild to do despite spending insane money already and it prioritising Rice doesn't seem the best idea. Even if we did I can't see us having a hope of getting him just now.

24 and still at West Ham shows it all, useless for any modern manager that actually wants to play football and not to have some outdated passive player that wants to hide from the ball and just act as an extra defender. Sorry to prove you wrong for the 99th time.

Gol I thought you might have started being nicer to Bomba Rice after that video of you and him went viral after last week's game.

You weren't nice to our own players... So at the very least I can wait for that if he ever signs for us.

Although it also depends who is available in those striker and goalkeeper positions.

For instance, I'd much rather bring in a top quality CM like Rice than a mediocre striker option like Watkins.

Pochettino’s preferred CM target allegedly. Going to be difficult to pull off.

Given West Ham apparently will only sell to CL teams this summer then yes, very.

The fact that Rice is no longer a guaranteed option for Chelsea is emblematic of how far the club's reptuation and stature has diminished under Boehly's regime.

Rice should have been a de-facto signing, essentially on loan to West Ham until the time came for him to come "home". We've seen Real do this Carvajal, Barcelona do this with Fabregas, Bayern with Lahm, Goretzka or Hummels.  Top clubs like Barcelona, Bayern and Real Madrid do not worry about 'losing' their academy talents to other clubs if they develop, because they have a virtual monopoly on buying back homegrown talents in their league. With our academy's recent success, post-2021 Chelsea were on track to join that rarefied air, but Boehly has evaporated that in a matter of months.

At least won't have the debate over signing for Chelsea cause he loves us and is a fan.

Bloke a pretty good source for Arsenal.

Probably the missing piece to their puzzle seeing as Partey goes missing at the business end of the season once again.

Better than next season when he goes to prison, amazing how the moral arbiters of football seem to be unbothered by Arsenal doing that.

Can’t see it happening. People keep forgetting that the walked away from the Murdyk & Caicedo deal because the players were overpriced. There is no way they are paying £90m in a summer where there is a glut of midfield options, and bumping up his contract from £60k/w to £300k/w. That will make him their highest earner and unsettle Saka & Saliba who are yet to sign new contracts.

If he's really good, someone should sign him. If he's actually a huge marketing scam, maybe the best manager out there will stay away from him as it has been the case for all these years already.

You literally just have to look at Harry Kane to see how stupid this is argument is.

Rice captained his team to a European final last night, any comment? Let me guess 'its only the conference league'?

This year we could only beat Arsenal in the transfer market, so wouldn't be surprised if we do that again. Although as we all know, priorities should be else where. Rice will not get us the extra 10-15 goals a season, he may stop us from leaking a few goals.

Fabrizio Romano is saying Arsenal are making Rice a priority whereas we are focusing on Caicedo.

I'd rather we go for Caicedo - think there is some player there that Pochettino can hopefully further develop

You're grasping at straws here, Kane staying at Spurs will always be his own stupid decision even if he did get to play the CL final and even if he did make top 4 a few times. Rice isn't anywhere close to that anyway, only you compare apples to oranges and yes, the matter of fact is that nobody really cares about the Conference league, sorry to burst your bubble...

He couldn't stop West Ham from leaking a few goals and he really isn't going to help anyone score more either.

Given Brighton were asking for 100mill I hope we don't go for him, or Rice for that matter.

Pochettino is know for developing players, surley there are some quality DMs out there that just need to be polished that we could sign for a third of that amount so Todd does not just sell off all our home grown players to cover such egregious spending.

Caicedo has some clause Ornstein mentioned.
