Argentina finally won copa america and the key reason is not messi. It is their gk, finally argentina has good gk and it is a completely different ball game.

But Messi did a Maradonna and carried the team to the winning line, he was unbelievable as usual, not many get awarded player of the tournament before the final......!!

The one thing you do see is that the ref does let them kick literal lumps out of each other, not for the delicate of ankles, lol

Messi scored the 3rd goal in a 3:0 against Ecuador and scored the first penalty in the shootout against Colombia. That's all he did in the knockout stage of this Copa America, still the best player of the tournament but that'a not really doing a Maradona.

Di Maria showed up and scored the winning goal in the final, he also showed up in 2018 against France and in 2014 against Switzerland and his deflected ball reached Higuain against Belgium that scored that winning goal.

Sure I agree he's the best but in my head when you say did a Maradona I picture someone scoring or assisting in the most vital games that's all.

True, I do sound like a hater...

But for me he's supposed to win the World Cup, he's that guy that should do it at some point and he still can try in Qatar. I just have this strong opinion that a player like him really needs that World Cup title, that's all. I just don't think that winning 1 Copa America for his country that before him won it 14 times is that much of a big deal when you put things in a bigger perspective.

And I think Messi can reach that goal, if he doesn't and ends his career I'll try to put things in a new perspective and I'll ask myself how come a player like him couldn't do it and then I'll probably re-examine the World Cup as the ultimate standard that set Pele and Maradona as the top 2 for the longest time period.

Don't you think he did enough at Barcalona ? Why don't you have the same energy for Ronaldo? Emerson won the Euros that changes f**k all to his legacy or how we view him as a player...

International tournament hasn't been considered as highest level football for the last 15 years or something like that. 

I remembered Sarri was being asked what he thought about Euro 4 years ago and he said he didn't watch any of the game because there's nothing to learn and he is right.

Messi did more than enough at Barcelona but it was mainly at a time when they had the generation that won 2 Euro and 1 World Cup title. Like I said for me the World Cup is the stamp that Messi should get. Ronaldo didn't have the same "obstacles" or challenges because Portugal never won anything before him, I don't compare him to Pele and Maradona yet I'm ready to do that when it comes to Messi and I think he's great enough for win a World Cup because for me that's the big standard that made Pele and Maradona to be considered the best for such a long time period.

Ronaldo has won the CL 3 years in a row, for some that might be more than enough, the same for those that say that Messi doesn't need to win anything with Argentina but that's not how I see it. The Brazilian Ronaldo never won the CL ever, yet he killed it everywhere he played and he won the World Cup and thus he's rightfully considered as one of the best strikers the world has ever seen, the European Ronaldo is easy the best European player of all time but still not at the level of Pele and Maradona if you ask me, Messi is much more closer, after all Maradona lost a World Cup final and won one but he also freaking cheated.

It is a good place to see talent especially if your scouts are not delivering.

Also if the international manger finds a use for your player in a different way it can add another dimension for the club game.

I get that he had an impressive season with Leeds to help them gain promotion but maybe I just didn't pay attention but I don't remember White gaining much praise throughout the season? 

£50m is big money for team that has a real rebuild needed to their squad. I just don't see how White fixes anything for Arsenal.
