Good shout. The title is wide open. I still wouldn’t rule out Germany!image.gif

Yes Germany could do it though the way this is panning out and with Southgate in charge the football gods might have a subplot that the makers of 'Mike Bassett England manager' would be proud of.

First beat the arch enemy Germany, then the Swedes that have shockingly knocked us out on occasions (probably when Southgate was a player too) and then face the Italians.

If it's Belgium then we lose, can't recall them doing any naughtiness to the England side.

Whatever way it is, with Harry Kane announcing his form is back, being at home and 'restricting' the Germans fans to just 1,500 supporters we are not going to have a better chance for some time.

A big match for Southgate's England legacy.

Mbappe is nowhere near Ronaldo or Messi's level for me. Good player, he'll have an amazing career, but he won't reach their levels.

He is , he needs to play in a better league, all due respect to Ligue 1

I do think the winners will be from Germany, Belgium, Italy from what I have seen (however I was so sure about France at the beginning of the tournament so what do i know! ).

I would say though if Greece and Denmark can win this competition who says Swiss can't ?

Great stuff

Hope we see someone new get the win. Belgium would be great.

Not sure about the Swiss. They have struggled in front of goal despite last night.

No, please! I don't like the idea of Roberto Martínez winning it.

I’ve been really disappointed by England so far so not feeling much excitement about tonight. We’ve been one of the dullest teams at the tournament as Southgate tells a squad full of talent to play with the handbrake on.
I just hope we are saving the best for the knockout stages.

Imagine Mason and Kai score a hat-trick each, goes to extra time and then Timo Werner comes in...

To score three offside goals and lose to a Reece James thunderbolt?

I'm sure everybody will be thrilled to know that the England band are supposed to be back in the stadium tonight.

Another win for the new sad reaction! You see @Mod Stark it’s proving very useful indeed!

I’m always like to see him do well, I felt sorry for him in the end here and can fully understand being f**ked up mentally!

Are you talking about Morata or about @Malta Blue that apparently needed a summer break from this place?

please don't hate me but my German heritage requires me to root for die mannschaft

However, hopefully Reece and Mason start for England. I saw a leaked lineup that had Trippier at RB and Phillips and Rice in a double pivot in a 3-4-3 but I don't know how accurate that is and it was about 4 hours ago that I saw it so who knows

Hopefully our matches today are as exciting as yesterday

Think I’ll watch the game in bed so at least when England put me to sleep I’ll be in the right place.

It's the bare white knuckle ride for me.

Once they are out almost a relief as I can watch the other matches without any attachment.

Southgate is such a negative manager -- It's an unbelievably defensive line up. Doesn't even have the balls to play Reece James. Has to slot Spurs reject Trippier in because he knows he doesn't have the energy the get out of the defensive half.

I'm calling 1-1 normal time, hopefully Foden/Mount/Grealish/Rashford can bail us out.

Rudi, Werner and Havertz start! Trippier ahead of Reece seems crazy to me, but what do I know. And why would you not want Mount's pressing ability up top? To me, it seems that Germany's backline can be put under some pressure and Mount would be perfect for that. But - you know - what the hell do I know

Gosens vs Reece would've been a really interesting battle.

Wow! That is a defensive set up, only three attacking minded players in there. Southgate going all Greece 2004 there! It may work out as Germany has struggled to open up defensive set ups.
