Just like with Lukaku I will never rate Bruno Fernandes no matter what what stats say.

Ghosts in the big games and loves a whinge. Comes across spoilt and entitled rather than a world class player.

😂 Like I said, in BIG games they don't seem that spectacular.

Champions leg semi is a big game. This is a foreshadowing of what they will do to Villareal next week.

No, they won't be up for it. The difference is Liverpool are attacking them at will rather than passing the ball backwards and sideways like we have a habit of doing.

This is the worst United side I can recall in a long time. If we don't batter them, we only have ourselves to blame.

Indeed. If I were a Man Utd defender I would fancy my chances of keeping a clean sheet far more against Werner, Lukaku, etc. than I would against the four or five on-form, goalscoring forwards that Liverpool have.

While the hagiography was inevitable, anyone paying even the slightest bit of attention knew this eventuality was totally predictable. The only three Man Utd players on the pitch tonight who I would really look to keep in the first team long-term are Maguire, Rashford and Fernandes. Fernandes has been in horrible form for quite some time, and the former two have been that poor this season that there has been public concern for their mental health. Even the lynchpin De Gea has been left behind by the modern game.

Remember the free ride Liverpool got against us under Lampard after Christensen was sent off (I think it was Thiago's debut)? This might be worse...

Yes, but is it a big game against this United side? 😂

Edit: I'm not watching the match btw, so no idea how they've been playing but it seems they're doing ok?

Was once upon a time, not anymore.

It feels weird to type but why now has ronaldo taken time off? His lad died 6 months ago so I found that strange, You'd of thought he would of taken some time immediately after such devastating circumstances?

Either way the schadenfreude is strong for me with united!!

Esp after reading redcafe opinions about our club with regards to the sale etc

6-0 from the dippers and its already a good week hah

1-0 already.

That Trent is f**king full of himself. Sort of player you want to see get a slap.

Massive chip on his shoulder. Somebody accidentally bumps into him he takes it as a threat.

Ralf did not help them putting AWB at LB and leaving McTom on their bench. They were going to lose either way but starting Jones and these calls was just setting them up for worse.

I know it comes with the huge caveat of Liverpool not needing to score and this being in the middle of a run of important games, but this 4-3-3 is loads better. Much more energy both in the middle (mostly from Lingard) and across the forward line. The inverted forwards make sense as well, allows Fernandes to bring them into the game, plus the fresh Sancho can attack the space behind/inside Alexander-Arnold.

Thank goodness we didn’t get Rangnick when lampard went. Dodged a bullet there.

starting to get worried about Liverpool winning all four. Of course we will have a big say in preventing that…but not only are they playing well, they have that momentum and all the breaks with it. Not even having one of those games where a team scores from their one shot on target and the oppo keeper has a blinder and they hit the post several times.

we have another chance of beating the worst Utd side in living memory next week. Remarkable we are on such a bad run against them.

Started watching from 2nd half, obviously pool dropped intensity after 2-0 but again I don't see them as that 7-headed beast, just a shame United are bloody awful to capitalize.

Am I totally crazy here in thinking they aren't all that?

Edit: how poor are United defenders? They aren't good at defending, they have no awarenesses when passing. My god.

It was a few days ago, not six months.

The advanced centre mid pairing of Fernandes and Lingard have completely nullified Thiago's impact on the game. Of course while Liverpool might not have been able to control the middle of the pitch, they still have their full-backs to get the ball forward...

Thats what I thought but after a read up it happened oct 2021?...

utd opened up like a can of toona 3-0

The difference when Liverpool players get a chance and our players….we may take one chance in every six…they’re one in every two (at least). That’s the difference.

Average age of their attack is 28.

Havertz, Mount, CHO, and Pulisic are all 21-23 years of age. It is why I am advocating on getting proven quality to replace Werner such as Gnabry to join our attack.

The difference is that they don't pass it back to the halfway line once they get to the final third. It's infuriating watching us on the wings or 20-30 yards out from goal and then we pass it backwards and kill all momentum. They see the gaps and exploit it, we don't. We have the talent, but not the courage.
