All well and good to believe in yourself and I have no qualms with anyone aspiring for greater for themselves.

In this world of instant gratification no one likes to put in the work to earn the stripes. You can't just demand to walk into a team of Chelsea FC when you're at this stage of your career. (although seeing what we are now, he probably can) The club gave you a platform to develop through the Brighton loan, it's not an entitlement to play for them but all part of your development.

If you think you'd be better casting your lot with Brighton then fine. Just don't breach your contract or force our hand. Run down your contract by all means but you've achieved very little in the game yet to make demands big man. First of all, you've got to pay the cost to be the boss!

we need to send a message to these entitled players, a contract is there for a reason, and you can't demand to play

Would be the weirdest thing we could possibly do.

Hamper any chance we have of making money or convincing a player they'll get game time simply because a player knows his worth and doesn't want to spend a season on the bench. This fan base is so weird at times.

Truly. The toxicity and tribalism is borderline the worst amongst club fanbases.

Liverpool want to inevitably replace VVD with him. f**k me, if that isn't enough evidence to keep him when a club want to replace arguably the best CB in the past half a decade with him, I don't know what will.

it's about the mentality. No one is guaranteed to start. If he knows his worth there shouldn't be a problem that there is some competition. Now he just comes across as scared that he can't get into the team over Fofana and Badiashile.

That's a leap. I didn't get that from the article. Just that he felt ignored by Tuchel.

Bias aside, it's best for him to stay career wise.

He'll have more game time here than at Liverpool. That's for damn sure given who they already have, and whilst he may get the most game time at Brighton, knowing Bloom he will make it difficult for Colwill to get a big club move in the future, as Bloom will price him at being the most expensive CB ever.

my thought process is that clearly he wants to play so he can be in the England squad at some point, he said that himself

to play he needs to prove himself to be a better option than the alternatives that a team has

I'm assuming that there is no preferential treatment from Pochettino with regards to his rivals for the CB spot, as Pochettino is supposedly a big fan of Colwill and really wants him in the team. So who plays is purely meritocratic

he stated he is going to make a decision and talk to his family etc. which makes me think he isn't yet convinced that he will be a regular starter with us and that maybe at a Liverpool he has less competition to get into the team

what i don't like, and maybe this is not true, is that it seems that he doesn't even want to fight to get into the team

i think Liverpool has less competition for the CB spot. Konaté is the only one really (assuming V. Dijk is a nailed on starter, although i think he is massively overrated). Gomez and Matip are really really average players

No they are not 😂

you think the are above average or below average?

i even found Konaté to be terrible at times last season

Definitely above average. Matip was poor last season but the year prior Liverpool fans were claiming he was better than VVD. Gomez can play anywhere in the back line.

Colwill at best would be a 3rd option at CB for Liverpool and Klopp hardly ever drops VVD for any reason.

Is it definitely a fact that he has demanded a starting place ?

I can't really believe it tbh , he's been in the game long enough to know that doesn't happen.  Where's thos info coming from ?

Obviously starting at Brighton is better than sitting on the bench at Chelsea for the lad, he likes playing !

We already gifted Lamptey to Brighton for next to nothing I seem to recall ?

Anyone but Liverpool please

well, i don't really know but that is what is implied

And speaking about his future to the press after England’s success, via The Times, he said: “I’ll speak to my family, speak to everyone I need to and make a decision.

“I’ve got to play at the end of the day, to hopefully get there and go to the next [senior] camp.”

Yeah I can see how it could be interpreted as a demand mate,  ,but hopefully every player wants to play or start every game.

Maybe he just wants away , it'll be a shame though, we are developing young players for our rivals these days it seems.

Maybe it's the business model ?

The lad could do with a little patience, grace and humility.

All these stories don’t really make me that fussed where his future is - bit numb to him now. Step one is wanting to be here - we can’t want it for him.

Said in the Silva thread now would've been the best time to have him go to Brazil. Not cut out in a back 4 unfortunately.

We are probably going to be forced to sell Chalobah, and then in 12 months time when Silva leaves on a free we will be needing another CB....We can put an end to this stupid planning right now.

Good points. Silva is still at a high level, but I almost see his role evolving this year to help bring along a very young group of CBs, with a potentially reduced playing role. Simply put, Pochettino will pick the best for each role, no sentiment.

It’s all the items off the pitch/in training we don’t see that are important, similar to the role Dave had before we needed him to play more.

that's what bothers me about this. If it's January and he was fit but hasn't gotten a proper chance, that's different, but at this point he should give a new manager (especially after talking to him and were i assume he will be told that he will be a big part of the team) the benefit of the doubt.  He hasn't even spend time in the first team before.

unfortunately i think he is a very good player, which makes this perceived attitude (if true) more annoying
