As mentioned elsewhere its probably these cr@p social media "journalists" regurgitating old stories or putting 2 and 2 together and getting 5. Absolutely. Brighton are very active on socials too. Wouldn't surprise me if most of the 'news' regarding him wanting Brighton is coming directly from their club. They're on social media daily atm posting congrats to Levi and encouraging Lallana for trying to convince him to join. The hypocrisy when they then post about Caicedo being at training daily too after they'd promised him a move in January. Used to quite like Brighton but i would be filled with joy if they liquidated.

I don't mind if they stay solvent, but an early European exit and a PL relegation would certainly result in a decent level of schadenfreude LOL
July 21, 20232 yr I wonder if we will report De Zerbi for his comments about Levi. Managers are not supposed to talk about other teams players in this league

July 22, 20232 yr Tinpot club.. we should walk away from Caicedo.. this does not make sense.. where are the no2 and 3 targets.. Let these guys spend half a season with an unhappy player and sell at half the value.. completely unprofessional from their coach.. half a decent season and such an attitude. it is their right to not sell caicedo but to talk about our players when the question wasn’t about Colwill .. let them rot.. Leicester won the league and got relegated .. they already have sold macallister.. let them first replace him.. there are plenty of decent mid fielders out there .. tchoumeni seems to be on the market for 80 mil

Liverpool are circling. Shame its a rival, but every PL side from about 10th up is a rival nowadays as all can hurt the big boys. Oh and as per the Robert Sanchez rumours, yeah they can do one on that as well now. Tchouameni would be brilliant, Kessie would be good, Marquinhos has been excellent at both CB and as a defensive midfielder in his time at PSG.
July 22, 20232 yr I used to quite like Brighton from when Potter was manager but now they're just an annoying tin pot club. As much as I'd like him here, If we can find an alternative I really hope we just bin off the Caicedo deal and never deal with these gimps again.

Every club that rise against Chelsea eventually suffers , Leeds, Burnley , Bournemouth, Arsenal, Tottenham…etc I could go on. Brighton will get theirs and it will be sweet!!
July 22, 20232 yr Brighton are somewhat irritating, but best thing we can do is stay above it and move on if needed. We’ve bigger and more important things to focus on than a silly arm wrestle with Brighton.
July 23, 20232 yr I don’t see the hype yet even though it’s just one match he didn’t really stood to me and gave away a poor penalty!!

Looked confident on the ball and played some good balls in behind. He looked like he tired a lot second half, a few winces and grabs at his lower back after lunging into blocks. Could see it a lot for the penalty mistake. Would be harsh to hold it against him though as he was the constant in an ever changing back 4. Edited July 23, 20232 yr by Niall1905
July 23, 20232 yr Plenty of potential there and to soon to really judge after one game. Can see why there is much hype, and has a great range of passing. Think his positioning can improve, and timing of tackles/not lunging in (again one game).
July 23, 20232 yr He's everything you would expect from a 19 year old CB. You can see the potential, but he still needs to clean up a lot of his game.
July 23, 20232 yr I would imagine there was a degree of anxiety / nerves. Not only was he playing for us and wants to do well, it was also playing against Brighton, were he was one of their best players last season.
July 23, 20232 yr Penalty aside he showed promise last night, assuming he isn't sold I think we need a RCB who can cover for any mistakes. Fofana is injured and at 38 you wouldn't expect Silva to have the mobility to cover when Colwill is out of position.
July 23, 20232 yr It's something you need to take in mind, mistake will happen to him and will build him. This is what happened with Tomori also and look where he is now.

Agree Scott. 3 or 4 times last night he made rash decisions to commit himself into challenges he didn't need to make.
July 23, 20232 yr Great to hear Pochitino come out and say he's not for sale, strange that we get called out for just budding for a player yet the bellend Brighton manager is OK to directly say they want to buy Colwill.

He was guilty of same several times with England U20, giving away a penalty and free kicks in dangerous areas. Needs to think about that part of his game.

Thiago has showed us time and time again that he doesn’t need the mobility or pace because he reads the game well enough to position himself to deal with these situations.

He does but we need to try and get into the habit of succession planning for key positions like his, the goal keeper and striker.

Perfect summary of this whole situation really. Obviously talented but very inexperienced. Watching the back end of last season and a bit of his time with Huddersfield makes me think he has a bit of a propensity to sh*t the bed when things get tough, and that's normal for his age. Playing in a dominant team covers all manner of sins (hello David Luiz!) and my concern is that one decent half-season has made us think he is better than he really is. Truth is, he needs a lot more playing time to reach his undoubted potential. If a club is seriously interested and comes in with a 70m+ fee, I'd take it. Callum Hudson-Odoi is a cautionary tale.

Thiago scares me in a back 4 and I don’t trust him, I wouldn’t be confident starting him in defence v a pacy Liverpool frontline.
