Having very recently praised de Zerbi to the heavens. I think we need to take the laddie's utterances with a pinch of snuff.

Yeah fairs I called that one wrong, I was convinced Chalobah set the precedent.

For all Boehly did spectacularly wrong in his first summer he literally has prevented another Salah/KDB situation (even if we had a the buyback clause he'd have probably turned us down given how content he was at Brighton).

Colwill reflected on how far he has come in such a short space of time, when we spoke to him shortly after he put pen-to-paper on the new deal.

 

‘I remember being in the old dome [at Cobham]. Coming in as a trialist, I was really nervous at the time. I went into training, really enjoying it, and then I had a six-week trial. On my ninth birthday, that’s when I got offered the contract, and I signed it there and then.

‘I never thought I could become what I have today, through all the hard work. There is no better feeling. So it has always been an easy decision. I have grown up, and all I have known is Chelsea,’ he beamed.

Yeah credit to Bohley for this one. Remember that he overpaid on Cucurella to ensure a loan rather than permanent deal.

Not really he basically has been respectful to coaches he seemed to have recognised his talent and supported him.. he said Zerbi have him a chance when no one did and in a similar way he saw Pochettino trusting in him.. 

TT did make a hash of some of our youngsters like livraminto, Gilmour and almost Colwill, Broja.. so clearly he was looking for more ready players

9 years old ? What pressure for a child to deal with , it must feel so cruel for the lads who don't eventually make it.

Good luck to the feller, I think Pochettino must have had something about him to get this done.

Btw, I was reading a Brighton fan blog re Cucurrela. Apparently he claimed that he fell in love with us after driving past our stadium!!

Some mega piss taking from the Seagull fans ensued.

Happy to be wrong about him. I thought he wanted out with his interview and Twitter posts a few months back. I guess I'll just have to get used to young footballers making sh*tty Twitter posts, wish it wasn't like that though.

To be fair, he was called Ca$hley for the longest time including by some on here!

I hated him. I wasn't so quick to Blame Kenyon (TM) but trading one of our best defenders (Gallas) for an Arsenal icon and to potentially replace Wayne Bridge, slayer of Highbury, was unforgivable.

I would agree with that. There were media articles a few weeks back which were saying Colwill felt totally ignored by Tuchel. Hardly spoke to him allegedly.

More than two seasons ago Livramento was behind Azpi and Reece James in the RB pecking order. He saw his immediate future as limited, which it was, and declined a new contract.

No it was our reported interest in Hakimi that spooked him.. he was about to sign and suddenly it fell apart.. it was no coincidence that the likes of a Guehi Tomori Gilmour left us along with livraminto.. while we kept on playing players like AC who were never going to sign a contract.. atleast this part Todd and Boehly seems to have fixed. Sell players who don’t want to be here and prioritise players who seem to have a future..
