Colwill has massive potential, but you need to remember he was a backup for Brighton last season... not a starter, not a key player. Not winning any leagues for you this season.
But if you're patient (for once), this could turn out to be the best deal you've done all summer.

Well done, you managed to get pretty much every single thing wrong in 2 short sentences, thats quite the achievement.

There’s some truth to this, though. Colwill did play himself into Brightons starting eleven, but it took quite some time. We do also have a history of «success now at all costs» which has meant no patience with young players
In Colwills case though, the club seems hellbent to make him a star with us so I’m not too worried about him

However, given the age of him and many others in the squad, we will have to accept costly mistakes and let them grow through  it. We haven’t been used to doing that since Roman, so I’m curious to see how it all plays out

Is Colwill really that talented though? You're not really a hot prospect at Chelsea until you have a long-term injury that massively hinders your potential.

I'm still not convinced.

Again, probably another that looked amazing in a Brighton shirt.

Compared to the likes of City, United, Liverpool, Tottenham and Arsenal, we have been more patient and given more chances to our youth players than they have.

It's really odd people are still peddling this decade out of date narrative.

We have had atleast one academy player enter the squad every single year bar one since 2017 and most of the ones who don't make it here still make it at top flight level.

Developing as a young player at Chelsea is the closest to a guarentee of a top flight career as it's possible to get.

Unbelievable giving him a 6/7 year contract. Was not outstanding for Brighton and often not selected.  Hope he does well and fulfills his potential. Another player that has been built up by media mainly because he is left footed and of course we don't want to risk letting another youngster go and staring elsewhere

'Unbelievable tying down one of the best young prospects in world football that was wanted by Liverpool and City down to a long contract after being one of Brighton's best players since De Zerbi took over.'

And a Huddersfield shirt

and England U21 shirt

he has way more talent than Tomori and Tomori played the CL final

and we have to thank Brighton for training him for us to be ready for this season. De Zerbi would have really thought him a lot tactically, seeing how they tend to play from the back. Couldn't really have a better loan experience than that.

Good news now we need to give him the opportunity to develop and become a first team player.
Seems we’ve been invaded by a few salty Brighton fans.  I know a few Liverpool fans who thought they’d get Colwill.  Too bad, move on no need to get mad.  I’ll have no problem if we don’t get Caicedo, although he’ll probably be playing alongside Colwill at Chelsea this season.

Graham at least go under a different username, don't be that obvious mate.

f**king hell mate you were only there four minutes, maybe be happy the club who’ve developed you since you were in nappies have given you a good deal?

It’s nice to feel wanted. Takes me back to the close connection we had with loanees like Pato and Falcao. Those were the days!
