Levi Colwill

Featured Replies

Don’t know how true the Liverpool connection is but as far as VDV goes, no matter how the press and pundits wax lyrical about him.

He’s 32, slowing down big style, was poor last season, wasn’t great the season before, he’s no Silva, needs replaced. Would be nice if Klopp is fooled by the hype and keeps him playing but he’s a decent manager.

A few reports, as was mentioned on the previous page, it is Liverpo that have turned his head and are willing to make him a top earner and pay more than they did for VVD for him. This they have communicated to Levi apparently as well

In a non illegal, non tapping up manner, presumably.

His father on a podcast when asked the one footballer he and Levi looked up to the most was Terry.

I mean there is genuinely a path way for him to become the next Terry, even his f**king kit is available.

He does like the number 26. JT is at the club again to, could have a word.

@axman2526 what's your take on this, will he sign or leave? I think he'll leave. If not this season, the next one for sure.

Pochettino on Levi Colwill: “I need to get a feel for him, I need to hear what he has in his mind, what he expects”. “Then, of course, it’s gonna be time for him to listen to what I expect from him”

I don't think we let him go this summer. The higher ups rate him as our best academy prospect apparently.

So I think they will want him working with Pochettino, hoping he becomes a regular and signs a new deal.

Whether he does leave or not depends how strong his connection is to Liverpool as they will need to replace VVD next summer, so timing would be perfect for them after rhe has had 2 years of PL experience.

If Colwill passes up the opportunity he has at Chelsea then it would be a really bad decision.

The club has developed him from 8 years old, offloaded Koulibaly to smooth his transition into the first team, kept Silva around for mentorship and added JT back into the fold for further mentorship. It's almost a perfect scenario for Levi ... and why I can't see how it ends any other way than him signing a new contract and cementing his place in the first team for the next 15 years ...

i would be very disappointed if he left, it's why i get so annoyed with all these speculations. If he wasn't any good i couldn't care less

I'm not particularly worries, we have Pochettino who works wonders with youth and JT who every acaemy player will look up to.

The only concerning thing is the thought that players might genuinely rather play for a tiny club like Brighton than Chelsea. I pray for Brighton's downfall to the almighty Jehovah every night.

Roll on climate change. The Amex will be underwater.

Think it's very likely he'll leave. He's once again been open about having to play as he's got his eyes on next years Euros with England. I do not expect Pochettino to give him any guarantees whatsoever and why should he really. He'll be told he will fairly fight for the two spots against the other CBs and that will be that.

Aren't you overselling Pochettino a bit? There's obviously no overselling JT, let me be very clear about that

Pochettino squad building and nurturing of youth is one of the best in the business imo, genuinely can't think of many ,managers i'd have over him at Chelsea to oversee the rebuild we're going through. Not to mention if we he can convince Kane to come on a free next summer...

Not entirely sure where Colwills sense of entitlement comes from.

I predict he won't be able to handle it when Pochettino won't promise him anything and will ask to be sold to either Brighton or Pool. Also a bit peculiar that he's not said a word about being excited about returning to the club this summer but he's spoke a lot about Brighton and now recently about "having to speak to family and make a decision" when he was directly asked about his future without mentioning his current club.

It would probably be good if he could finish a final without either an own-goal or giving away a penalty before he demands anything.

i wouldn't sell him

let him rot in the b team, see how close he is to the national team after 2 years

we need to send a message to these entitled players, a contract is there for a reason, and you can't demand to play

A fair few Liverpool people seem convinced he is going to sign for them as VVD replacement.

You mean the same 'Liverpool people' that were adamant they were going to be going into this season with an Enzo, Bellingham and Caicedo midfield.

People are upset that a young player who believes in himself is talking the talk.

How about we actually give him an opportunity to walk the walk?

I'm not convinced he even wants to be here. His interview a few months ago and a few of his social media posts makes me believe he will look to leave even if he becomes a regular starter at the club.

Let's actually wait until next week after his meeting with Pochettino.

Saliba was doing similar with Arsenal for a while.

And he is magic, you know, Mauricio Pochettino.

So maybe he can work a spell on Levi?
