@Munkworth He has doubled down on this our old mate Craig:

https://metro.co.uk/2022/02/13/chelsea-players-slammed-for-celebrating-embarrassing-club-world-cup-victory-16097141/

In the video he labels the players celebration embarrassing. Has labeled Chelsea fans as Plastic, said the majority of us only became fans in 2003 or later and could not name a single Chelsea player from the 80s or 90s.

My my where our club is now sure burns this fella lol

Of course this inadvertently comes across as him whining that no young Chelsea fans remember who he is. Also:

Craig Burley who made a terrible back pass I don't think I've seen a worse one against Man United in the semi final a close game till that toothless twat did that. He never made the squad for the cup final in 97 something that obviously still haunts him today.

While Craig Burley has set back the anti-Scottish stereotype movement decades, David Speedie is far more generous:

Yeah media backlash because we won. Had it been City or Pool it would have been headline news and celebrated.

Jeff like many others just ignoring the fact we actually won the CL.

Meh, who cares. If all, I like their squirming.

What a c**t that Palmeiras coach that little twat. Saying there weren't any English men on Chelsea's squad.

Well, should've refused to play us before the game started if you felt so strongly.

Haha and the funny thing is... Their coach is actually Portuguese and not Brazilian. What a load of bullsh*t.

During the game @Gol15 said we Brazilians have the best supporters along with Argentinians, but after the match the Palmeiras supporters fought amongst themselves outside their stadium and one even got shot. It's absolutely ridiculous how one thing that makes fans so amazing can also make them the dumbest people on Earth.

Why can’t all our ex-players be like Canners?

That coming from an ex player who would have good reason to bitter at some fans for the racist abuse he had to suffer.

Bravo Paul, you are too kind to us.

Am sure he knows Craig is bitter he had no FA Cup winners medal.

That is actually a very nice way to alter that chant for the rest of the season. Hopefully it catches on, starting with Palace.

Don't see any scheduled dates for the 2022 Club World Cup, and there's talk of the next one being an extended 24 team version in 2023.

I would assume that means we get to be World Champions and wear the gold badge for 2 years! 😆

2 years of us singing about World Champions! Other clubs fans will love it I'm sure...

Finally I saw somebody who post this image because this is what really bothers me in this game.

Yes that is Kante play as 10 wth is that.

After puli came on he started drifting there which make far more sense.

We don't play with a 10 though and I'm not sure Pulisic as one of our two CM (Kova / Kanté in that instance) is the solution here - although I'm sure you're not implying that. From such a static attack where the opponent has his complete defence sorted, it's almost bound to be processed over the flanks. That's where most of our problems lie (WB injuries + Mount and CHO both not being a real threat) IMO. Having Kanté in that position is not totally idiotic in my view when the ball gets mostly carried over the flanks, mixed with some fast side switching crosses, to bring Rom into position. Now Rom receiving the ball centrally could realistically meant he's kinda bound to lose it roughly 7/10 times but with Kanté's quick mind and feet right behind that one line deeper we have a pretty decent shot at winning the ball back immediately in a high danger zone with the oppo's defense rather unorganized.

Playing Pulisic against a high volume team from SA..not sure I'd take that risk from the get go - or play him for CHO who had a decent run of 2-3 consecutive games but is a passenger now most of the time.

edit: and to be more clear: Pulisic is IMO doing what Mount and CHO could have done but didn't do much (Mount tried as far as I remember but since he got injured so early who knows..) - run into the central attacking area to a)help the build up from static positioning and b) create some space for the WB on the respective flank by drawing one or even two defenders away from there. You can see Kanté still being that high up the pitch btw. on that second photo.

Are you saying having kante receiving the ball as 10 is a good idea ? 😱😱😱

Clearly either Havertz or Puli need to drop to the middle because that is where the space was. Puli came on and straight away he kept drifting to that area which was probably instruction from Tuchel.

On the subjects of number 10s there are only 2 who could potentially play that role on the current squad, Havertz or possibly Ziyech.

Gallagher is a possibility as well on his return though I do wonder if our evolution after Jorgi and Kante done, possibly as sooner as 2023, is a return to a 4-3-3, which would not included a traditional 10 unless we make it more a 4-3-1-2.

Mendy

James

Chalobah

Colwill

Chilwell

Mount

Rice

Gallagher

And Broja plus 2 other forwards.

I am not sure we have no 10 problem. We have two 10 in the team mount and havertz and our standard formation is 343 with two 10. This is all good but against palmeiras it was crazy,  Palmeiras defend with front 3 vs 4, man mark everybody, plus two cb in the middle. For some reason both of our am played very wide and nobody played in the middle,it is like everyone is trying to create space for their teammate but no one is utilizing that space except for Kante. Honestly, it is like watching robot play football.
