Steven Gerrard has confirmed he wants to keep him, but with a year only left on his deal he has admitted it is out of his hands and I will be down to "what is best for the club, and not necessarily what is best for me". 

In other words he is saying Villa will sell for the right offer. Talented player, plenty of PL game time and has been linked to us as well.

Luiz, Sangare or Alvarez? Or none of the 3?

with Sangaré and Alvarez more or less ruled out, it wouldn't surprise me if we end up with him

Four clubs have been interested in signing Douglas Luiz from Aston Villa this summer - Atletico Madrid, Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool.

One club is set to make an official £20m offer tomorrow. 

Luiz is out of contract next summer and would like to play for a club in the Champions League.

Villa signed Luiz from Manchester City for £15m three years ago. 

Has only started one out of four league games this season, Villa's home defeat by West Ham on Sunday.

He then came off the bench tonight and scored in 2-1 defeat at Arsenal. "

I didn't realize he was only 24. Feels like he has been around for quite a while. He might be a decent squad option.

Arsenal are the ones to make an offer. 20mill, a shame to miss out on such a talent for 20mill. Our deal for an unproven Carney is worth as much.

I'm really losing track with whom we're linked. I'll be happy when this window closes with a bang.

I've got money on Reece James being the only outfield player from last season who'll still have a place in the team !

 

We need Zaha (imo), we are linked with Memphis, and I doubt we sign either.

Feeling a bond with our players has been tough enough already, and on top of that from next week I'll have to practice who is who and what is their squad number 👩‍🎓

Making an offer of £20m doesnt mean they will sign him for £20m.

No wonder Tuchel is struggling to coach the team. Can you imagine the chaos he has been dealing with around transfers the last month or so?

I think he'd be a good option for 25m - prefer it to the Ajax panic buy. but neither are going to move the needle much for us

Douglas Luiz is a good option, but not really the right profile. Same as Tielemans,  good player, but not a physical presence that can add some steel in midfield. If we cant get a dm though, we at the very least need someone that can play in a 2.
