Moises Caicedo to Chelsea! "Official"

I genuinely forgot we still had Sarr on the books. A genuinely pointless signing tbh. But we should be able to 70m from those 4 players. I actually hope we keep Gallagher. Consider how deep City's defense and midfield is. There's no reason we can't have similar depth. Enzo, Caicedo, Lavia, Gallagher, Chukwuemeka is a genuinely potent midfield. Great to have for next season when we'll be in Europe too and the season after that when we'll be playing in the CWC (I'm allowed to dream).

if liverpool are really desperate we could offer them Gallagher for 85 million pounds

he played really well today

I've had this song stuck in my head for 2 days @azpi28.  It's worth a repost so we all suffer together.

it needs to be in the announcement

i will be disappointed if it isn't

They sensibly waited until after the game.

Aye agreed. Try and lesson the sting of dropping 2 home points to the rat munching vermin.

I had some curly wurlys in reserve to get this deal done, glad they weren't needed......because now I can eat all the curly wurlys.

I had a tube of smarties, half a pack of hubba bubba, and a packet of space invaders, but the transfer took so long I ended up eating them all.

Essentially another loophole we seem to have exploited. So essentially, for UEFA, the armotisation starts next season, since we aren't in Europe this year. Which just gives us one extra year (23/24) to spread that payment without falling foul of UEFA's new rule. I have no idea if this played into their thought process but it gives us even more wriggle room payment wise. Brilliant.

So finishing 12th was the plan all along? 😆

Wow, Clearlake really are dead serious about challenging sh*tty. If we also get Lavia over the line, that will make our midfield potentially the best in the world.

Where will that leave Santos, Casadei and Ugo i don't know, but at the very least we should be able to sell them for healthy profits if/when they come good in their loans.

Well if you offered them earlier we could have had Caicedo signed before the Liverpool game 🤬

Don’t doubt I love Jackson right now, but to challenge city we need a better GK, another midfielder and a world class forward. Possibly even cover as Nkunku. We are 3 signings off in my opinion

I don't blame Brighton. This is all on Caicedo and his advisors. Brighton wanted his transfer done. I assume they want to spend the money while the window is still open. They had their deadline. We did everything correctly, put the bid in and had it accepted. That should have been that.

Thing is, it appears the player himself was only interested in a London club, even though he clearly hadn't told his employers this beforehand. That then leaves Brighton in a sticky situation. The player clearly wants out of Brighton. He doesn't want to play for a massive club like Liverpool, and only seems interested in going to the mid-table Chelsea. What can Brighton really be expected to do in that situation?

To be honest, I'm glad he's off to that circus, because I only want committed players wearing our shirt. He certainly wasn't that.

I imagine Liverpool and Brighton will continue to have a good relationship after this tedious affair. Chelsea will continue to stink the game out with their antics. We'll move on. We clearly have the money to spend, and might yet get even better value out of it.

In the circumstances I don't think Liverpool or Brighton did anything wrong. The sh*t show is all on the player/agent/Chelsea. Maybe they all deserve each other.

Not the best but definitely up there. Madrid and City are still ahead imo. But that would depend on how well these lads continue to improve.

I think we should try to get Kasper Schmeichel. 36 years old. Won't moan as a backup and would actually be decent. There's no world class forward available to get. Just really good players with high potential. And we've all but wrapped up a deal for Lavia too so I think the plan is in line with what you've said.

It all now all depends on moving on Lukaku, Sarr, CHO, Ziyech and also Trev I think. Think we will see some real outwards movements for the rest of the week now. Need to get money in and free up the wage bill. Then get in a couple more and we are set. We really are spoilt being Chelsea Fans that for sure.

Yeah agreed, we're not a done team yet. But my point was that clearlake are taking it seriously and are laying the groundwork to challenge them in the future. Football goes in cycles, no one dominates forever and we are looking well positioned to be next in line. City's will end once Pep leaves imo.

Yeah it's too soon to say considering they haven't played together yet but on paper the potential is definitely there. Midfield wins you trophies. Exciting times!

Finally!

It's a lot of money, but honestly he is quality and while the media and rival fans will bring it up regularly I'm confident a Caicedo & Enzo midfield will make their tears even sweeter.

Happy days!

I know I know I’m sorry, but I was really hungry.  The space invaders were particularly tasty.

Chelsea though. Gone from twenty years of being run by a Russian crook to somehow coming up smelling of roses even more. What a horrible sh*tstain of a club.

They've always been a sh*t stain, even before the Russian mobster.

We’ve had a bit of a nightmare here but I genuinely think Caicedo is not worth near that price, surprised we bid that for him. Chelsea probably saved us from overpaying massively.

Speaking personally, once it was obvious "Club Caicedo" had been bought off I didn't want him. As far as I can see Chelsea don't need Lavia so I don't get the move. Good luck to them. Horrible club. Liverpool were "had" there but at the end it probably cost Chelsea an extra 30M on Caicedo and 55M on another player they don't need. End of a bit of fun on the boards.

People who think it will come back to bite them are nuts. The game is corrupt and far from a level playing field.
Spend a billion in a year and no one bats an eyelid, come on, seriously

It's like people have been asleep the entire 20 years really. The punishment is not forthcoming.

All that's happened is that one year ban ... where they signed a 60 million pound player practically the same day it was handed to them.

Can't wait for the media and others fans to start bringing up FFP now.

Although a basic understanding of how FFP actually works and a calculator app should be enough to shut people up,
