Enzo Fernandez - Officially a Blue!

Featured Replies

Barco, Emegha, Quanda, Penders. All blue co signings, all much of the same.

where’s Alonso’s signings. Which of those players will even get a game in our strongest 11. None bring experience to the dressing room.

These really ain’t the signings I’m interested in…. These were the already done deals I’m hoping for much more.

Enzo next?

Yeah it seems he liked the post announcing CC exit.. he can fck off- 5-6 good games a year .. inconsistent to the core.. he can go - a clossal waste of money when we could have signed so many better players ..

My biggest worry is that no one wants to spend 80+m on him.

Similar to what Cucurella did, Enzo also hinted from long ago that he'd want out and ideally we cash in big on a another player that does not want to be here anymore. But I would not sell him for 70-80M. If he wants to leave then he should instruct his agent to bring Chelsea an offer similar to what we paid for him. If the agent can't do it, well better luck next time, I guess. Still tied to a long contract so it is the club's choice in the end.

I don’t have a problem with selling Enzo per se. He’s a good player but he goes missing in the smaller games or when we’re struggling. He‘ll turn up for the big games but not for smaller teams.

The issue is replacing him. He’s added a decent number of goals to his game and it’s a lot to take that out of the team.

Whoever replaces him, HAS to be at least an upgrade.

Agreed. Whilst both players polarises opinion the only box crashes that have chipped in with goals on a semi regular basis have been Fernandez and Cucurella. I have no problem with us trading them on but we need to replace those goals cos we have hardly been prolific from other areas.

If Alonso goes with a back 3, the wingbacks will replace the output. Personally not a fan of either, prefer a flat 4 with fullbacks bombing forward.

Same. Don't pay much attention to Twitter ITKs but in this case it is clear almost all the social media talk is agent-driven on Enzo's side, pushing for suitors.

You can tell by that fact that any information about the potential fee or the club's position is intensely detailed whereas any reported interest is vague and speculative.

If the reported clubs are interested it must be contingent on him having a good WC. Which is unlikely.

Unlikely? We don't know as yet - he might have a good World cup. I think he will. He has rested all season after all.

I'd replace Enzo with an actual attacker.

And I agree. Bar the CBs, we don't have the personnel to play a back 3 anyway. Imagine Gusto bombing forward being an option for attack. Grim. Seeing people suggest we use Gittens, Quenda, Neto, Garnacho, etc. Just please no.

Hang on, what clubs? City and PSG have publicly stated they are not interested, and I think Jose played a blinder by getting Bernardo Silva in early. The whole racist accusation that is hanging on Enzo is not something he will want to deal with again after his experience at Benfica, especially with the amount of strong French characters in the Madrid dressing room. That move is just not happening, I am confused why he & his agent can’t read the room.

Conte is sipping on his white russian & Victor Moses says hold my energy drink...

But you're right, Garnacho cant stay awake on corner duty, let alone put in a defensive shift.

Tbf I still remember 90% of us wanting to upgrade Moses that summer window.

Cuadrado did alright as a wingback in Italy... was gash for us.

Cant say im a fan of wingbacks... Alonso has my full support until he plays Gusto as an inverted forawrd with license to no look pass/cross... then I will march both out onto the stamford bridge pitch and execute them by firing squad at dawn in front of the children's section. They must see what happens to football heretics.

I just feel like we've seen that set up become restricted after Conte's first season.
