Sterling is 28, arguably one of our only attackers "in their prime", everyone wants our young talent to develop and flourish, it will take time. Trust that they'll get opportunities. Support the team, not individuals.

Can you provide a link to any quote from any Chelsea fan asking for Ben Chilwell to be played at LW? I am not sure that i have seen a single positive post about this move from Pochettino. In fact, the vast amjority of the fan base have been advocating that the club persevere with Mudryk and give him time to develop in the roles despite his form being woefully poor currently.

If not Mudryk than at the very least Sterling at the left with Madueke on the right, or Maatsen on the left. 

I always rated Chilwell's ability to time his runs perfectly in the attacking end when playing at LWB/LB, but using this as the sole reason to play him at LW removes a lot of attacking impetus natural attacking players would bring. 

Chillys problem is, most defenders know if you stop the run outside, the attack breaks down. He will always turn back and play it back. He would never dream of using his right foot.

I wasn't really happy that after we spent £1b in a year, we are playing 5 defenders at the back against Nottingham Forest at Stamford bridge. How much did Forest spend on their squad this year?

We were playing against a team that was hoping not to lose 3-0 against us, they practically came to pack the bus, we definitely will have most of the possession but we didn't play creative players that can break them down. Eventually they got a goal and won.

I really don't want us to play five at the back again. Also, this is why I said I don't want Sterling and Gallagher, we have better creative players than them to win matches. We have Madueke, Palmer and Mudryk. 

If we play five at the back, it will be easy for teams to play against us. We have dangerous players, we have to use them and win matches.

Those who are talking about Sterling, he performed poorly at times in the match against Forest, this is what I'm talking about, if you cannot show your class against Forest at home, probably a relatively easy match, then you are not good enough. That's not what we want.

Madueke, Mudryk and Palmer will be good outlets for us, with good defenders behind them, good midfield also, they will be good. Even though Mudryk is relying much on his speed now, he should work on his final passes, we shouldn't condemn him, he has a manager, this is what the manager should have worked on during pre-season and get him ready for the season.

But I feel he can be a better outlet than Sterling.

All of us know Sterling. We know the kind of footballer he is. We need to be careful not to overhype a player that is not too good. This showed against Nottingham Forest. The match against Forest showed that Sterling is not the best talent in the world.

In Madueke, we have a very good player. He's a 1v1 demon, a very good player, he's very creative, so I said it's better we use him instead of Sterling.

Surely not, I am not a pro manager. 

But I know what is our player strength and weaknesse because I watch Chelsea game pretty regularly. You don't have to be a pro coach to know this.

It's not a long term solution, but I don't blame Poch for starting him there over Mudryk at this early stage of the season

But we played against Forest at home, and because we played five defenders, we couldn't create good chances. Why can't we play the normal system that we know.

City, Arsenal, Liverpool, United etc play this system. If we want to play against our rivals, we can play 5 defenders, but in other matches, we should play 433 or 4231. How can we be defending against teams that we are better than. We need to score goals.

Chillwell and James as full backs and conventional attackers up front.

Interesting article. An article which for me supports the idea that we should go 4-2-3-1 with Chilwell at LWB and having two natural wingers. A game that should actually suit Mudryk due to Bournemouth's high pressing and high line. Bournemouth will not sit back so this is ideal for him. Unfortunately, the few games Mudryk has played this season has been against teams sitting deep, bar the Liverpool game. This game there will be a lot of space for him Mudryk, Sterling and Jackson to get in behind, especially with Fernandez looking for that killer ball. Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur and Brentford all created numerous chances when bypassing the Bournemouth press with quality pass-and-move football through the lines.

A good example was when Dominik Szoboszlai ran into an empty channel vacated by left-back Milos Kerkez, who decided to leave his position to press Trent Alexander-Arnold at Anfield (below).

Midfielder Joe Rothwell sprinted back to cover the space, but ended up conceding a crucial penalty equaliser.

 

 

Last time out in a 2-2 draw at Brentford, Bournemouth's high line was consistently exposed.

This clip below shows central defender Illia Zabarnyi follow striker Yoane Wissa into midfield, but from there the Bees produced a 3v3 triangle to deviate away from that piece of closing-down.

With fellow defender Marcos Senesi also drawn towards the ball, an inviting space was left for Kevin Schade to run in behind Max Aarons for a 1v1 with the goalkeeper.

The speedy Nicolas Jackson and Raheem Sterling will hope to make good use of similar situations at Vitality Stadium.

When Bournemouth’s defenders choose to take a proactive approach, they must do better at stopping attacks like this, at source.

In that same match, Bryan Mbeumo’s stoppage-time equaliser also punished Bournemouth’s unsuccessful press.

Despite leading 2-1, Bournemouth committed players to close down Brentford’s defenders, forcing their defence to push up towards the halfway line - and one long pass into the space left in behind undid them.

I don't need to analyse opponents that much to know we need to play Mudryk. I'm sure so many people will be circulating this article on social media this week.

Now, when you allow Bournemouth to know that you know that they play high line, they will change their tactics this week and make the match difficult for us. They may sit back against us, and adjust their plans. 

So many times, people think of the opponents, they don't focus on themselves. We need to take care of ourselves first before thinking of opponents.

Clearly Mudryk needs to play. I don't care who the opponent is.

If any fixture in our calendar was going to extinguish any fires of optimism that may have developed over the international break, it would be Bournemouth away.

Badiashile might not be ready in which case Silva pops straight in. I just feel like we've gone so long relying on Silva at the back that it would be interesting to try a new pair without him and see how it works under Poch. 

Time to roll the dice and give Mudryk some proper game time. If £60m (before add ons that wont be achieved) is going to be wasted, Id rather give him a run to make sure before everyone gives up. At least if he gets consistent minutes it will provide a solid evidence base rather than the short bursts we've seen so far. 

I believe we will see the same 11 as Forest.
