Yeah that elite level of keeper made the difference for both Pep and Klopp. If Costa is that good we should sign him, even if Maresca does not work out thr next manager won't turn down a quality keeper.

May 31, 20242 yr Smart money would be on Calafiori joining Juve since that's where his ex manager Thiago Motta has gone. I'd rank us as outsiders in that one.

This makes sense to me if the perception is James/gusto playing as a “inverted fullback” Calafiori can play centre back so it’s easy for him to sit with Colwill and Fofana in possession to create a back 3 whilst James inverts into midfield. I’d assume he’s juventus bound with his links to Motta but he does seem to fit with the way chelsea want to play.

Riccardo Calafiori - Juventus has held a number of discussions with Bologna and are offering cash and a part exchange. They will also have an edge because of Motta. And are we in need of a left back? I guess we are looking at a left sided CB in this case?
May 31, 20242 yr Wait, Diogo Costa is a real person, I just assumed it was Diego Costa in disguise f**king about..

Difficult to get Italian players out of Italy so wouldn't be surprised if he goes to Juve.

May 31, 20242 yr Author I wonder if Maresca has suggested bring his forward, Daka, from Leicester with him to be our new striker.
May 31, 20242 yr This is NoT silly. . . .he really has to GO! Romelu Lukaku ----- Wants to stay in Italy and there is interest from Napoli but they are reluctant to pay the asking price and have a number of other options identified to replace Osimhen. Al-Hilal have spoken to Chelsea via Emanalo and would no doubt make a decent offer but the player won't be keen with Mitrovic already installed at the club. Jeddah-based Al Ahli are far more attractive and are pushing for a striker - perhaps an option. Roma have spoken with his representative about turning the loan in to a permanent move, but it will be complicated and unlikely. Ismail Kartal wanted Fenerbahce to buy Lukaku to challenge Michy Batshuayi but with a change of coach the squad and targets will be assessed before decisions are made. Maybe Everton should buy him? IS Lukaku our worst signing ever?
May 31, 20242 yr Looks like we have ruled Osimhen out according to Romano. No surprises there as wages would've been a tremendous issue. Gyorkeres also probably staying at Sporting another year.
May 31, 20242 yr I HOPE WE DON'T BLOW ANOTHER 60 MILLION ON A KEEPER, I THOUGHT WE WERE LOOKING TO BRING BACK MARCIN BULKA FROM NICE

Wasn't up to PL standard last time around. Scored 7 goals for them in the Championship last season, 4 goals in the 22/23 PL season, 5 goals the season before.
