He did an interview after a Bologna game where the interviewer was female and his partner impressed with her man marking ability.

I don't think this will happen for us. The price is high due to his rights being with Basel. So basically we need to pay two clubs which is complicated.. Arsenal is also after him and some other clubs. I feel this is a pass.

I don’t know how much he’ll cost but before the euros it was rumoured that juve could have gotten him for around 22 million and his performances and everything has made him a lot more expensive. He said a few years ago that he wanted to play in the prem for either us or West Ham so there’s that as well.

 

I think he’s definitely a first choice player as lb but with colwills injury issues he can cover there and cucerella can play lb. At 22 he’s young and has looked very impressive this past year. If they can stay fit a back four of calafiori, colwill, fofana and James can be the back four for years and would be very impressive now and for the future. For me I’d say this is such a good signing and is a ‘do what you can to get him’ signing

Have really liked the look of him as I mentioned in the Euro thread. Looks an upgrade on the likes of Disasi and Badiashille, but then he may choose a club who can give him Champions League football.

I'm in management, the whole point of getting to this position was to delegate so i can sit on this forum longer.

I think he’d be the LB inverting into midfield or LCB. 

I actually prefer Hincapie. They are literally almost the same profile and age, but Hincapie has been playing at a higher level longer. I think people are obsessed with the hair on Califiori.

Rumoured €70m release clause. I think Calafiori is better on the ball, kinda like Gvardiol-lite type player.

Still there's a rumour he's got a 12 year old nephew that we can throw €20m at. Every cloud and all that.

You would think a player + cash swap would be more appealing to them since they have to give up half of the proceeds to Basel.

I reckon we might have been to slow in trying to close this deal.

If Arsenal are only offering him €3.5m a year (approximately £57K per week) then there is certainly scope for "Chelsea wages" to swing the deal our way. 

 

Apparently Bologna will accept 50 million euros for him because they will owe Basel a large % of the fee. So if Chelsea offer a fairly large fee plus cassedei (who apparently they rate highly) surely they’ll consider that better value overall as they won’t owe Basel as much of the percentage. I also wonder if Bologna would want Badieshille? He’s not as good but would be a decent replacement for calafiori for them and they wouldn’t have the headache of replacing him and not seeing a large part of the fee going elsewhere, just a thought

Yeah, I've been hoping that Lenny Yoro gets picked up by the Scouse , so that we can offload Badiashile either on loan or permanently to Lille.

I dream up these connections in my head, which all makes sense to me. Then none of it happens and i despise the clubs owners for not doing what i dreamt up.

We currently have six CBs, they can pick a few for an exchange.  Sounds like they can have a LB in Ben Chilwell too.

If we are going to do something, we need to do it now. 
 

Cucurella can not be our long term answer. 
 

 

Arsenal are going to have a solid defensive line with Calafiori signing for them.
