Chelsea v Celtic, (pre-season), Sat 27th July 24, 2100 GMT

Oh its only pre season, all about fitness, what a load of crap. Loser mentality. You build momentum, positivity and morale by winning games. I only play 5 a side football nowadays locally, but even I hate losing and always have! These are pro’s who nowadays stay relatively fit during off season too, they should be wanting to win! Any top manager wont be accepting this performance.

Feels like we are back to square 1. The back five are horribly disorganised. Celtic have no problem finding space behind the lines and in behind.

Don’t think James is mobile enough to be inverting and then having to run back into the RB position.

Colwill is not fast enough to play LB. He keeps dropping off defenders until he is almost inside our own goal.

Badiashile, Fofana and Lavia not looking convicing.

Sanchez has been ok. Nkunku and Guiu the only ones who look good.

I'd add that Madueke has been lively. Mind you if reports are correct he's looking at a move away.

Hopefully Maresca can give a Poch style halftime team talk and turn this game on its head.

I feel the Maresca inversion of the double pivot is affecting the role of the deep lying 8 which in in turn is bringing the 10 out wide into blind alleys therefore negating the runs of the under-lapping number 4. I think you will find the statistics will bear me out here.

As Brian Clough once said; "football is a simple game"

Not anymore it isn't.

Holy sh*t!

It’s an effing friendly against a side who are way ahead in their pre season training. The SpL starts next week.

I honestly can’t fathom the seethe from plenty of posters on here when that 11 is so far away from who will line up for the first game of the season.

Get a grip of yourselves ffs.

I agree that we shouldn't read too much into friendlies, but they shouldn't be discounted entirely. Fitness is the main goal, but you can't go into the new season looking completely clueless. I know it's only the second game, but we shouldn't look this bad.

Sanchez seemed to be taking it seriously, he looked pissed at the performance of the defenders in front of him.
