Absolutely ludicrous decision. Surprised Simeone didn't start a riot.

I've seen countless replays and slow-mo's of the penalty and no way should it have been chalked off. What was the score on pen's at that stage _ I'm assuming someone else missed too? Real, might have gone on to win anyway but I'd be absolutely fuming if that had been CFC.

Did that this morning. Couldn't see any movement of the ball at all from "contact" with the slipping foot. How any VAR ref can over-rule that on the "clear and obvious" count is beyond me ! It wasn't as if the actual match ref wasn't staring straight at the incident either ! He had a clear view and blew for the converted penalty.

Still too soon.

I was recently watching a YouTube vid of "wacky" missed penalties. Lot's of slips.

Halfway through I realized what miss might be shown, I shut it off quickly as the chance was too great I would see it again.

what a chance wasted for 3rd Brighton goal

Good, because I think a Brighton win is probably the last result we'd want from this one. Much better for our CL chances if City win this one. The more points that Brighton and Newcastle can drop the better !

if only but I realy can’t see us winning the cl spot. we play utter sh*t since we dropped from the 2nd

Burnley have now completed 38 games in the Championship, and have conceded only 11 goals.

Granted it is only the Championship, and most teams in that division are pretty goal shy in 24./25, in stark contrast to 23/24, but even so, ELEVEN conceded in 38 games is unbelievable. 4 fewer than our fantastic 04/05 season. The record lowest GA for a 46 game Championship season is 30, so they are well on track to obliterate that !

I couldn't see the double touch either. And no one else did. Such a downer for Athletico. Hoping Arsenal get knocked out now. Worried about Spurs they need to get knocked out otherwise we'll never hear the end of it. They still in FA cup ?

Lost to Villa in 4th round.

United will probably win the Europa, to keep up their recent record of one trophy a season despite having a terrible side/squad/manager/owner :-)

I forgot about Villa knocking Spurs out . Thanks. Utd get into CL if they win Europa?

You're right, they always seem to win something even when they are awful.

I work with a lad who is from Burnley but for reasons has ended up with an Everton season ticket for the last few years. He says that having watched Burnley this year, they’ll go straight back down. He believes the gap between the two leagues is growing and is already absolutely enormous. Probably goes some way to explain how Maresca was able to scrape the title with what was believed to be the strongest/most expensive side to compete in the Championship and then look largely clueless with the far from strongest but most expensive side in the PL.

Having watched MOTD, I see the Emptyhad was living up to that nickname.

Their support has really fallen away quickly. A mate of mine who is a City fan and has decked his kid out in all the gear and bragged about how his lad has only ever known City be champions (known at four?), but when I asked him a few weeks back about City’s struggles this season, replied that he’d not really been that interested this year. Fancy that..

WE CAN HARDLY TALK, PLENTY OF EMPTY SEATS LAST TWO HOME GAMES, OUR PLACE IS LIKE A MORGUE THE SUPPORTERS ARE MUTE

Our atmosphere is woeful and has been for ages, can’t argue with that, but we’ve been largely woeful on the pitch for three seasons before a few empty seats have appeared, not three months.

It does sound like there are unique issues with support at the Bridge. We have the oldest average age home support and we seemingly have a high number of tourist spectators at home games (apparently aided by Todd). And I get the impression that we possibly have a very closed shop with our support. A lot of aging ST holders, high ticket prices and a small capacity seem to combine to keep newer/younger supporters away.

I heard more of the classic Chelsea anthems being sung in the bit of the ladies final I watched yesterday.

Agree with your comment. But I think most PL games home support is the same apart from the odd game. When you look at the home support at away games in Europe it puts the PL to shame. I don't know if it's the same for their league games. Copenhagen fans were terrific the other night. You would hope a bigger stadium would mean more young fans could attend, but Spurs and west ham have been looking to stop concession prices for that age group, and Spurs hiked up ticket prices across the new stadium. Haven't been to away game for a while but usually our support is very vocal .

It would help if we played exciting football, the Emirates will be silent today apart from our support, in the unlikely event that we thrash them.. Our manager complains about fans , but we aren't supposed to complain about the football.

I draw the line though at booing the team, absolutely hate it. Always get behind the team even when we're useless. As for today......

Come on you BLUES !!
