Douglas Luiz back to Villa on loan with no obligation.

Not arsed about that given we now have a manager who plays Santos correctly. Still feel we may need an extra body in the squad as I want James to stay at RB.

Honestly hilarious we can predict their every move at this rate.

So if we cut through the club bullsh*t and media briefings to these 'in the know' social media commentators our business at this final week of the transfer window is as follows:

  • Signed - Yisa Aloa (17 yo signed signed for our academy from cash strapped Sheff Wed)

  • Sold - Leo Castledine (Loan at Huddersfield cut short and sold to Middlesbrough for a "six figure sum")

  • Loan Returns In - Kiano Dyer, Teddy Sharman-Lowe, Caleb Wiley (UK loans with no alternatives yet), David Datro Fofana, Aaron Anselmino (International loans with no alternatives yet)

  • Loan Returns Out - Facundo Buonanotte

I'm not sure if I have missed anyone but that is some stellar moving and shaking by our Sporting Directors. Its times like these that these guys really earn their corn. Bit like the set piece coach who's only attacking corner routine is get Reece Jsmes to dink it to the near post.

£1m to be exact.

We need - in my humble opinion - an experienced CB - we have some decent young CBs already and we have Chalboah who is a great squad player to have (though maybe not a first teamer). We just need that CB. For me that CB would be Bastoni - soon to be a very ancient 27. left sided CB - but he can play on the right. He can hit a long pass forward.

Chelsea 'close in on double transfer' with Arsenal, Liverpool and Man City to miss out

Chelsea are reportedly set to win the race for an exciting double transfer.

(DONT GET TO EXCITED)

Rangers left-back Ashton Scally and Hearts midfielder Boyd Fraser are the players in question, according to The Sun. Both aged 15, they have reportedly attracted the interest of several Premier League clubs over the course of this season.

Chelsea, however, are in pole position to snap up the duo after beating the likes of Arsenal, Liverpool and City in the race for their signatures.

I think that means we're throwing much more money at it than the other teams were prepared to pay.

One of the biggest shifts for Cobham in the mid-2010s was moving away from expensively acquired talents from other academies, to actually bringing through local players from junior age groups. We paid (relatively) a lot of money for kids like Kakuta, Christensen, Gokhan Tore, the Musonda brothers etc. versus the generation that spawned Mount/Abraham/Tomori/James/Chalobah/Gallagher etc.

It looks like the new owners are reverting to the same strategy that we had under Emenalo.

Wasn’t Christensen the highest paid youth in the world when we signed him?

I remember figures of 8-10 grand a week being mentioned.

With a name like Ashton Scally, surely he is destined for Liverpool?

So once again, they spent all month pump faking every single target, only to sign no one. Carbon copy of last January.

Can’t wait for the PR spin on this one. Let’s all remember last years.

“Happy with our players. We did the ground work to strengthen in the summer”.

And everyone talking about the players that are going as if these will be simple done deals. The only player to leave beat them hands down and they had to pay him off.

truth is we rarely sell anyone surplus its usually a half hearted loan and often the loan is to ourselves at Strasbourg, amazing how they get away with it.

The only real consequences are -

buying up to the limit re PSR, from such a healthy budget position to reach our limit is crazy for the dross we have.

and to also max out on the loan limit in terms of number of players, trapping ourselves in a musical chairs type scenario. bonkers.

Look at Tyrique George. Can't even sell a player when we have no margin to cover. Laughable
