World Cup 2026

IT is hard to see where the weakness is in this French team. Probably the goalkeeper.

Their defense and midfield are very average, but teams are too scared of their attack to keep possession against them. In fact, today's game was one of the better performances in that regard where Morocco completely ceded initiative.

I predict they will be narrowly but comprehensively suffocated by Spain, but either are the perfect opponent for Tuchel-ball England. England haven't had this easy a path to the trophy since Euro 2020.

Was expecting a firecracker of a game between the two best footballing sides in the World Cup. It was not exciting or entertaining and I regret watching it. Shame.

Shame VAR has won and destroyed the tournament. Cant stand watching this horsesh*t corruption.

France were still very decent. Unfortunately Morocco just did now show up - such a one-sided game.

Yeah, was expecting lightning strikes above the arena and gladiator style combat. Wasnt to be... France didnt really allow Morocco to turn up. I think this French side are that good. Only took 2 minutes for them to create their first chance. Mbappe for me is already better than Messi and ronaldo. He has Fat Ronaldo aura about him.

Mbappe is good but he will never be as good as Messi (at his peak).

Tonights game is going to be horrible to watch, Spain just controlling the ball for 90% of the game but doing f**k all with it, Belgium are the only hope of making it decent to watch.

That is just nonsense. Mbappe isn't even close to Messi at his peak. He could score 100 goals in a single year and he still wouldn't be better than Messi. Mbappe couldn't dream of doing things with the ball that Messi has done, but I have seen Messi do everything Mbappe is capable of doing.

Why is it that English fans are still vilified as hooligans, yet every time Morocco lose a game of football, their psycho fans are all over Europe causing riots and they don't even get a slap on the wrist for it? It's about time Morocco was given a ban from football.

Seriously though, a 1 game ban upgraded to a 2 match ban ....why ? Is there any explanation?

And it's inevitable that at least one of our already yellow carded players will get another one and miss the semi final...IF we get there

Uefa had a spare match ban rattling around, so that had to go somewhere.

Cool, Mbappe will break Messi's goal scoring records using a ball which means you will see Mbappe doing things Messi couldn't... ;-)

You should see the Israeli's hooligan problem, yet the UK government wants to roll the red carpet out for them. Israel gets banned from playing and the entire israeli government and lobby groups round up on the British government and call the decisions antisemitic, and demand police resignations.

the France V Morroco thing goes a bit deeper though. There is still a lot of social injustice still being worked through. https://x.com/Majstar7/status/1322259277390745601

Mbappe isnt even the best player in that France side.

If anyone has R9 aura in world football atm it’s Haaland as well.

No one in the current crop of Superstars even comes close to peak CR7 & Messi. Will probably be decades before we see that talent again due to the stifling tactics of managers nowadays as well unfortunately.

Pure stat watching.

Iniesta was a better player than Mbappe ever will be, but Messi was so ridiculous that not even Iniesta couldn't get close to him. I would argue that Modric at his peak was better than Mbappe too.

Did I read this right? Modric better than Mbappe... ... ... as you like.

Mbappe this world cup or the next is going to sit top of the all time goal scoring record. That should tell you on its own he is the greatest striker to have played at the world cup. That isnt stat watching, its the reality of the goals he has scored, putting him pretty much number one goalscorer.

Mbape has scored 20 goals in 20 games, Messi has played 11 more matches for one goal more. 31 + 21...

Messi is an absolute God of a footballer and Mbappe is nowhere near him.

But still, for me, Pele was the most complete footballer ever. He was brilliant at everything. A killer in front of goal, fantastic running with the ball, terrific in the air, strong in the tackle. Pace, stamina, an incredible football brain, tough as nails. A hat-trick in a World Cup semi-final at 17 followed up with two goals in the final. And all this in an age when balls weighed a ton compared to today, pitches could be like ploughed fields and defenders could literally amputate a striker's leg and not be penalised. He was magnificent.

Maybe because...

Fact Check

NewsMeter found that the claim is false. The viral video has no connection to Morocco’s World Cup defeat. It is old footage showing Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) fans clashing with police following their Champions League victory.

Hi Scott. Apologies mate, you're absolutely correct, 👍 and apparently it also kicked off after another Morocco game. Actually found info on the BBC and Evening Standard along with quotes from the Met police commissioner condemning the violence.
