Posted March 13, 200817 yr Obviously we don't know if any of the lurkers or even posters are CFC players but if there are, do you think they agree with us or think we are a bunch of t*ssers? And, if you knew players were reading this would you change the way you posted?
March 13, 200817 yr If I personally was a player then I think I'd check a forum or two and see what people were saying, but I'm not sure whether any of our current players would do that.
March 13, 200817 yr Leon Knights mum used to read the forums, I remember her posting a few times as well.
March 13, 200817 yr I believe the captain of Brian's State U14 team does. I hear that was a cracking side.
March 13, 200817 yr I just cannot imagine any reason why a player would want to get on a forum, since most of the time the posts will be negative (just human nature). I think there might be an extremely slight chance that someone in management may check out the forums, but probably only a 0.000001% chance of that.
March 13, 200817 yr Nahhhhhh, we'd have won the Quadruple twice now if they had logged on and taken our advice on board
March 13, 200817 yr Nahhhh. Most are busy banging lingerie models, playing on the playstation or doing 'public appearances'. Maybe the backroom boys. I can see barking mad masseur Billy McCullock coming on here. And of course...I am Gael Kakuta, youth team starlet!!!!
March 13, 200817 yr when i first started visiting forums of my favorite teams in the late 90's, my first community was my college's basketball team forum. i remember i was one of several in a contingent of posters who thought that a certain recruit not be signed, and we were quite vociferous in our disdain for him. he eventually did sign for us, play an unspectacular 4 years for us, and then graduated and moved on. shortly after he finished his playing career, his father posted to the message board and told us that he and his son checked out the message boards frequently before making a decision as to where to sign, and that the criticism he saw on our board came very close to changing his mind about whether to sign there. he then called several of us by name and recalled exactly what we had said, obviously saving the info for 4 years. some trusted posters and moderators confirmed that the guy really was the player's father. that is somewhat of a different scenario, because these were college kids, amateurs, and they were also deciding where to go to university. but it always runs through the back of my mind...
March 13, 200817 yr Zlatan does he posts under the name of Brian M Wow really? I thought that was Zlatan's mum.
March 13, 200817 yr Many moons ago when I lived in Canada I used to post on something which was a sort of forum (but far less developed then this kind of software - more of a message board) for the whole 'Generation X' malarky. Anyway it was strongly rumoured then that Douglas Coupland used to look into it sometimes and occasionally post under a user name but obviously nobody ever knew for sure. It wouldn't surprise me in the least if players looked in on forums and things like that from time to time. They are part of a generation that is very internet savvy, they have buckets of spare time on their hands and it is human nature to want to see what people are saying about you.
March 14, 200817 yr i believe that ranieri used to read the forums, and tried to make us all happy by trying to play all the players we liked. I also believe grant reads these forums, hoping to pick up some tactical knowledge for upcoming games. Scott
March 14, 200817 yr What about that guy who was right about Mourinho's sacking?. Wasn't someone i'd personally like to associate with, but he knew at least one of the players personally.
March 14, 200817 yr I also believe grant reads these forums, hoping to pick up some tactical knowledge for upcoming games.Scott Well if he's picking up tactical hints from this site it would show that many of the tactical posts on here are totally inept and ineffective so I guess that proves he doesn't read this forum because everyone on this site is always spot on with their tactical suggestions
