sounded like that to me...it took me back a couple of years to when he wasn't rated by so many people...is it cos of all the talk of a transfer or just his form not being so good...it is amazing how quick people turn if true

Didn't hear that myself Brit. People were chanting Ballack's name when they were both lined up to take that free-kick 2nd half. For some reason they didn't appear to want Drogba to take it. Not sure why. However, he did take it and was unlucky with a good effort. Saved by the keeper low down.

I spoke to my dad at the end of the game and said to him that Drogba is my least favourite striker I've ever seen at Chelsea, and I've sat through some crap. I'm interested to get the opinion of people that don't like JFH on this one. Drogs is the best striker in the world at the moment, when he can be arsed which isn't very often this season.

At least with JFH he knew he was a goalscorer and not much else, and that's what he done consistently. Paul bloody Furlong, might have been crap but always gave 100%, Fleck the same. Sutton failed miserably but we all agree that we didn't play to his strengths. Our attack is built around Drogba at the moment and he doesn't deserve his wages. Even the Arsenal game, last season he'd have scored 3 before half time, then he had 20 minutes when he showed what he can do.

He pissed me off big time last night because he should be the best striker in Europe.

When Drogs is playing well he is on fire, but when he has an off game is is oh so apparent, he is dropping a lot at the moment - I know he is showing an injury and may not be 100% match fit but then he shouldnt be in the line up at all then.

Yep, there was a lot of anti-Drog sentiment in the MHL, that's for sure and the chants for Ballack to take the free kick were very much based on that.

He just hasn't looked interested as of late, and gave a repeat performance of the first leg, in that he didn't do much, got easily handled by their centre backs, and when he did get the ball, tried to do it all on his own.

Seems like he playing for Didier Drogba rather than CFC at the moment, which is not a good sign.

well its because drogba has been totally off form since the ANC - and not only that but seems to have gone back to his rolling around for 10 minutes every game and whinging phase again.. if drogba played like a gentleman and was off form, im totally sure there would be no anti-drogs sentiment.

he really does go to ground and stay there until either medics or the referee make him get up, it is REALLY annoying to watch.

last night i screamed at the tv "you better f**king pass that ball you c**t!!!" when he was 2 on 1 with joey i think.

and he didnt. and he lost it.

again.

I didn't hear any anti Drogba stuff last night but there is no doubt that the Ballack chants were because of the "disagreement' between him and Drogba over who took the freekick. At least after the kick they seemed to kiss and make up - helped by the fact it was a good freekick.

I don't agree that Drogba isn't trying - I think he is trying as hard as ever. I do think he is struggling though and is frustrated by it. Unfortunately that brings out the worst in his game - the falling down and moaning.

I think it boils down to one main thing. He needs some support up front. At the moment he is dreadfully isolated and could do with a partner to give him some close support and create a bit more space. We saw the difference it makes against Arsenal.

Both Joe and Kalou played very close to Drog's last night though and he refused to use them time and time again!

I was talking about having an extra man though. If one of Kalou, Drogba or Cole has the ball that leaves 3 defenders covering 2 men. If Anelka had been on too then it makes a big difference.

Anyway, I'm not sure how close they did play to Drogba, but one thing I noticed was that all three seemed to rotate their positions a lot, particularly in the first half. Drogba was often wide and Joe was central on a lot of occasions.

drogba put in an ok performance

i think he does have interest in chelsea but its self interest, he wants to grab all the headlines

he is choosing to go it alone or shoot when there is an easier option with a pass to play someone else in

somone said drogba is the least favourite striker he's seen at the bridge

well let me argue that point in 2 words

Drogba was marshelled well be their no2 (i think) throughout the game, he wasn't allowed to turn when picking the ball up with his back to goal.

Don't let Drogba turn or Let Lampard shoot from distance looked to be their game-plan from a defensive point of view.

On his day a great player unfortunately with a pain threshold of a two year old.

He was ok last night, one or two good shots but for me he just seems to be playing for himself and will be off at the end of the season.

Ohh I dunno about that, those two year olds can be suprisingly tough icon_lol.gif

Extremely selfish player, always has been. Never been his biggest fan, as his form depends on how he feels on the night. Starting to remind me of LeBouef and I started to really not like him at the end of his time at Chelsea. I think he is gone, but you would think he would at least try to find a CL medal in his trophy cabinet, and this could be his best shot at one, ever!!!

he looks like a player putting himself in the shop window to me. hes never been as greedy as he is at the moment. though to be fair he still does his defensive dutys just as well as ever.

Drogba is probably the most frustrating player i have ever watched in a Blue shirt ! And weve had some !

Kalou and SWP fight that one out

Still got a long way to go before he beats Gronks!

So true.

Drogba is the kind of player you love one week and detest the next. Thought he did well Tuesday night on the whole. He was still too greedy at times but did help out defensively like no other striker can.

But I still cannot stand the way he goes down and acts up like a little girl. As Osgood used to say, a defender kicks you, you don't flinch, you don't want them having the satisfaction of knowing they've hurt you. At times, especially considering his size and strength, Drogba is a f**king embarrassment.

as for the most frustrating, i also vote for gronks. used to drive me round the bloody bend.

Kalou isnt frustrating to watch, he's coming along fine now he's getting regular games. SWP has not had the play time Drogba has had.

Frustrating yes, but he was out on the wing so it wasnt a KEY position, and Gronks didnt roll round on the ground wasting time.
