carvalho. i honestly think hes the best defender in europe and would be very difficult to replace. if id had two choices, my second one would have been essien.

Essien: while I reckon we've probably seen the best years of most of our first team (I don't think any will significantly improve) I expect Essien to be out and out the best central midfielder in the PL (if not the world) in the coming seasons (as Vieira was in the early 2000s, and Keane in the late 90s). The loss of Essien would mean a boost to rivals on the level of losing a Kaka or a Messi.

Edit: the fact that I didn't pick Cech is testimony to my estimation of Essien.

I think Carvalho is the best defender in the world and if he gets a chance to play alongside JT for a full season again then we will be rock solid. Cech a close second.

You got me there. I voted for Cech, but I feel the same way about Essien and Carvalho. Three of them must stay AT ALL COST!!!

I'm glad you added that, otherwise I'd be a bit stuck icon_lol.gif

I voted Petr Cech happy0034.gif

Essien, not just because he is the most complete footballer we have and is still improving, but also for the reason that if we did lose him after what it took to get him here, it would, in some ways, show a weakness in our club......if you know what I mean.

A few candidates Essien, Riccy, but voted for the best goalie in the world ...........CECH ChElSea2.gif

I seem to be the only one who has gone for Obi Mikel. 317.gif

There are a number of reasons

The special one called him pure gold

The fight we had with Manure says everything (Why should two huge clubs be so desperate for him)

His age

He is pure gold

A star of world football for the future with out a doubt.

Joe Cole for me - I'd hate to see him out of work! icon_lol.gif

Seriously, I went for Essien.

Snap.

Cech is the only answer. For all the money in the world, we couldn't buy a better keeper.

If you had asked me two years ago, I would have had Lamps in that category as well, but I think we actually coped pretty well without him, with Ballack and Essien stepping up.

Don't get me wrong, I would hate it if Frank left, but he's not irreplaceable any more.

dotto your first & second choices, after all we still have Carlo !!!! icon_lol.gif
