  1. Can we please change the "like" button to "agree" - so often I'm liking things I hate but I do agree with them.
  2. Why wait - I've just spent a very enjoyable five minutes there. Only thing I have enjoyed with his face on it - I still can't bring myself to read the Times Sports supplement from yesterday cos it's got a great big picture of his smarmy face on it.and I just don't want to see what bloody stupid comments he's making now.
  3. Just checked the BBC text commentary on the match and saw that "Nascimento Ramires takes a free kick" - I don't think I've ever seen him referred to by his full name! Sorry just had to mention it! And it just shows what happens when you don't rest players and have a centre forward in the team doesn't it Benitez?
  4. That was it exactly - I thought he was going to f**k up and I was so relieved when he didn't. I am of the camp that kept hoping he was going to come good but have finally lost faith,
  5. At the time of Marin getting ready to come on, I saw the sub board where it said number 9 was coming off and I thought "oh my god, he's really going to do it, he's taking Torres off" and my respect for Benitez went up a notch. Then I realised I was looking at the Corinthian sub board and normality was restored. For 10 seconds, I thought even Benitez had realised the truth.
  6. Can we please rename the "like" button for "agree" - I've liked The Moos comment - but obviously I hate the thought the second para, but sadly agree it's more likely!
  7. My first thought on seeing the title of this thread was "only on a very high cliff".
  8. A poor innocent (non-football fan) girl at work today asked who was Chelsea manager and why I was so annoyed. I feel a bit sorry for her - I don't think she really expected a history lesson on Chelsea!
  9. No prob MrSkyBlue - as you realise emotions here are still very raw - I knew what you meant but am still so angry that I do tend to overreact perhaps on all things Benitez. Can't accept him, won't accept him. Victories will be hollow and defeats easier to bear than ever before. Still feel slapped in the face whenever I see his mug on anything to do with Chelsea. But it's not your fault!
  10. I'm sorry, I've always respected your posts but for a rival fan (even one who's opinion i respect) to tell us we "have to move on for the good of Chelsea" - no way - don't tell ME what to do for the sake of MY club! It hurts. I cannot pretend otherwise. And like so many others I am in a dilemma. But I will not be told by a fan of another club what I HAVE to do.
  11. I think (but haven't checked) it was the players rather than the fans that saw him off.
  12. Does anyone else think this is like when Cloughie went to Leeds? He had slagged off the side and fans and players hated him. He lasted 44 days. Just saying.
  13. And maybe you should apologise for calling everybody who doesn't agree with you a non-true fan.
  14. Who are you to say who is a true Chelsea fan? I feel exactly the same as Davey Boy and so do many other fans. Just cos you don't it doesn't give you any right to say we aren't true fans. Just stop believing your view is the only view a true fan can have. I could say you should go away but I believe in free speech.....
  15. I'm sorry - you just don't understand my absolute hatred for the bar steward. I love Chelsea and have done for over 40 years but this is the worst day - including getting relegated to div 2. I am genuinely confused and sickened - I just can't tell myself to forget it and put it behind me - even if I wanted to, it's not that simple.
  16. I literally feel like crying! What the f*ck - never, ever thought it would happen. Can't think of anyone worse - unless Dalgleish
  17. It's sad and I'm ashamed to admit it, but I don't know! It would've been about 1974/5 and I think I used to lie to my mum and say I was meeting friends there when really I sometimes went on my own (as a 12/13 year old girl!). Will have to go and find my programmes in the attic and work it out!
  18. These were the two I thought of. Fulham was boxing day wasn't it? And for the Liverpool game I had a Saturday job but luckily the boss was a football fan (Swansea, anyway!) and as soon as the draw was made gave me the day off! I remember when we scored being swept off my feet and falling but someone just reached down and yanked me up by the scruff of my neck! They were pretty invincible in those days and for us to beat them was fantastic! Funnily enough I didn't hate them then like I do now though!
  19. Champions of Europe - the celebrations make it better than the season review. Neither are as good as they could be but that one is the better - it shows Didier standing in front of the fans lost in reflection! But both are obviously essential purchases!
  20. Hmm on the one hand you define rivalry as competing for the same objective and then in the next breathe you say you only view Spurs/West Ham/Arsenal and to a lesser extent Millwall and Leeds which contradicts what you've just said. Millwall Leeds and West Ham are certainly not competing for the same objective - Arsenal keep looking like they might but in reality don't and Spurs did this season but probably won't again! Liverpool haven't realistically competed for a while and I hope this continues. So, given that our objectives are surely the prem and CL, our true English rivals by that definition are surely Man City and Man U. Hatred is something else altogether.
  21. Tbh it still gives me a tingle when I think about it and my spine felt cold as I was typing it. I was so impressed - it really cemented my (already solid) support. So never let people tell you Chelsea don't care!
  22. When my dad died in 1998 my brother in law jokingly said we should ask if we could bury his ashes at Stamford Bridge. I thought "don't ask, don't get" and rang them up, fully expecting the answer to be no but to my surprise, they said "yes, when do you want to come?" We all went along, not really knowing what to expect - but thinking there would be a bit of a flower bed somewhere round the back - but no - they dug a hole right between the goal posts at the shed end, stopped the groundsman and made sure it was quiet while we tipped his ashes into the ground, after saying a few words. Everything everyone at the Bridge did on that day was absolutely perfect! When ever my son gets called a plastic fan - we live in Shropshire now although I grew up in London, so everyone assumes he's just jumped on the bandwagon - he says yeah that's why my grandad's ashes are buried between the goalposts of Stamford Bridge!
  23. I agree. Just finished watching it and while (obviously!) it's a good watch, I think there could be so much more - especially having enjoyed so many of the videos posted here - we could do with the extended celebrations, bigger build up - and every time they went to a FA cup game they showed a bit of dancing in the dressing room - but you never get to see it properly. I've always felt the end of season reviews are essential but could be much much better! I wanted some of the bus tour and especially David Luiz singing Blue is the Colour! Oh and running time is 117 minutes - not long enough, personally I always find it's mainly just goals and no real sense of the game.
  24. It's really well put together - well done! But I wish you'd used ordinary footage as I thought some of the match coverage was difficult to watch as it was so blurry - I think the effects detracted from it. But the music was brilliantly chosen - just wish I could've seen it all better! It may just be my age..... or my laptops age...!
  25. Laughed out loud (but with sadness) when I read on the BBC that he had joined Liverpool because of their "history" - he's speaking their language already! Hopefully that's all they'll ever be!
