TheGreatestGame got a reaction from OhForAGreavsie in Random RumoursIt’s a blessing that Kounde is talking to Barca. He is not a good fit for the PL given the more physical play. His recent surgery will also cause him to miss the pre-season. Koulabally would cost less, be a better fit and alllow Chelsea to slowly integrate Colwill into the lineup. It is time to move on from Kounde

TheGreatestGame reacted to SW6Blue in Random RumoursYes, totally agree actually.
Kounde and Barcelona deserve each other.

TheGreatestGame got a reaction from Sexyfootball in Aurelian TchouameniF Scott McLaughlin and his staff who ignored Petr Cech’s recommendation to sign Tchouameni and preferred to take Saul on loan. Chelsea needs to clean house in their scouting department and hire a proper sporting director. Way too many transfer mistakes over the last 5 years, including Kepa, Lukaku, Werner, Guehi, Abraham, etc.

TheGreatestGame reacted to DarkMata in Random RumoursCause City will replace him with the player we should be buying.

TheGreatestGame got a reaction from LongtimerLurker in Ousmane DembeleNkunku did not look great during the title game on Saturday. He disappeared for large chunks of the game. I don't see him being able to replicate his goal scoring in the premier league. I also don't see him as an effective presser in Tuechel's system. Chelsea needs speed and scoring threqte on the wings such as Diaz of Liverpool.

TheGreatestGame reacted to LongtimerLurker in Ousmane DembeleHard to say really, I think we go in for him and if he wants to come and work hard cool, but we're not having him to sit on the bench or the injury table. If he wants to take the next step in his career then he surely moves from Barca.
He has 4 options Bayern, PSG, Chelsea and staying at Barca. There may be other teams after him, but as far I know these are the main ones.
Bayern makes sense, but they're full of wingers already, unless Gnabry leaves. Personally I can't see how they can offer Dembele €18m a year as reported, but not resign Gnabry who was instrumental to their last UCL win.
PSG obvious link, Mbapps gone to Madrid everyone knows. They need to replace his numbers imo Dembele isn't the answer. Very hard to find someone that will fit seamlessly with Messi and Neymar considering the lack of pressing from the front which destabilises the team. Plus must also provide the blockbuster attacking numbers.
Stays put not a bad option really he's playing his best football at Barca under Xavi, clearly a manager that can get a lot out of talents. Yet he wants more money to stay, if he truly loved the club it shouldn't be such an issue I don't know how much is on the table of course.
Come to Chelsea, this is the most intriguing prospect. Bayern and PSG he's guaranteed league titles almost every season. Guaranteed a run in the UCL KOs and won't need to play his best football until UCL games, so he can coast the league to a certain extent. But what's the challenge for him? Getting into those starting 11s and staying there? Winning in a one league team? Trying to win UCL in an all-star team?
At Chelsea firstly he has to get into the starting 11 ask any of our forwards staying there is difficult. He would need to prove himself in the hardest league which should be a worthy challenge for any ambitious forward or player for that matter. Gets a chance to link up with one of his former coaches who he likes and likes him. Play for the current world champions and try win the toughest league in the world as one of the main stars of the team.
With Barca poaching almost our whole backline I think we should do everything to convince Dembele to leave them. I think that would be justice, you take our defenders we take your €120m signing for free.

TheGreatestGame reacted to evissy in Ousmane DembeleTo be fair he looks awesome. I would gladly swap him with Pulisic for example.

TheGreatestGame got a reaction from weetee in Aurelian TchouameniI have seen Tchouameni play some number of times for France and Monaco over the last couple of years. He is a better all around player compared to Rice, particularly on the offensive side. Pairing him and Gallagher as double 6s could add a lot more fire power in the Chelsea midfield which they have lacked for a while.
-
I can’t believe this ended up a tough game. I know we rested Kante from the start but that 2nd half was awful.
-
Do you know what really pisses me off about this decision? you can guarantee that if scored a goal with that part of his arm, they would have disallowed it for hand ball. These refs make no sense.
-
TheGreatestGame got a reaction from erskblue in Christian Pulisic - OfficialIt was a griddy performance by Pulisic yesterday. He was making runs, beating players off the dribble and creating a lot of open space on his preferred left forward position. He also helped with pressing Lille which created a number of scoring opportunities.

TheGreatestGame got a reaction from Sexyfootball in Jules KoundeI have watched Kounde play 5 games thisseaaon for Sevilla, including the last two games. He was sub-par playing as a RB in last week's Europa game. He was meh in yesterday's game during which he received a red card. That is 2 red cards in his last 5 game. In both cases he lost his cool. Not something you expect to see exhibited by a 24 year old.
I don't see how Kounde can play CB in the PL as he is only 5' 10"' 164 pounds. He is going to be pushed around in the PL and harassed now that everyone knows he can be rattled.I also don't see him being very effective as a right back as he doesn't appear to be good at long passes or shooting. I would rather see James or Chalobah.
I view Kounde as the next big transfer failure if they sign him. Chelsea needs to sign a top football director as a top priority this off-season. Enough of just signing the latest hot prospect.

TheGreatestGame reacted to Gol15 in Jules KoundeI'm still very excited to have him in the squad, perfect player for our system.

TheGreatestGame got a reaction from erskblue in Chelsea v Palmeiras (CWC) Sat 12th Feb 2022 16:30 GMTWhy did it take so long for VAR and the head referee to make the call on the red card at the end of the game.At the time it was only a one goal game and it seemed pretty obvious it was a red card. They allowed Palmerias to play with 11 men while trying to tie the game. Imagine if they scored to tie the game. You can't get that time back or reviews the goal.

not as embarrassing as United though or Arsenal who are no longer in the FA Cup
-
41 shots and needed extra time. That's actually horrendous. This is the worst attacking Chelsea side I've witnessed in over 20 years. Pathetic

Daft comment. First off, it wasn’t a League game, it was the FA Cup. Giant killings have been a feature of this competition for as long as I can remember. We’ve been on the wrong end of them before, no doubt we be will again. Today we weren’t.
Given that we were poor, credit to Plymouth. They significantly raised their game, as lower league sides so often will when drawn against the likes of us, they gave us a run for our money, and they made the match moreinteresting for the neutrals.
So we were sh*te, so what? All that really matters - as far as today’s game is concerned - is that we’re through to the next round of the Cup.
Onwards and upwards.

TheGreatestGame got a reaction from Oli in Chelsea v Plymouth (FA) Sat 5th Feb 2022 12:30 GMTThis game was rubbish from the point when Tuechel decided to sit the academy players. There was no urgency from anyone except Kovacic. Chelsea almost lost to Plymouth Argyle which sounds more like a sweater company.

TheGreatestGame reacted to mwblue10 in Random RumoursMan I hope we don’t cash in on them. Think I’d rather we sell Werner and incorporate Broja at this point. Gallagher would be getting games here right now with the injuries we’ve had.
Nothing to happen this month though, I agree.
For the summer, here’s what hopefully will happen:
-bring back Broja and Gallagher
-buy Rice or Tchouameni
-buy Kounde and another CB
-replace Alonso and Azpi
-sell Pulisic (been severely underperforming and I think it’s quite clear that in the recent Athletic report, it’s him that’s unhappy with his role)
I see a lot of our perennial loanees being sold this summer too due to new loan rules. Players like Rahman, Bakayoko, Kenedy, Batshuayi.

TheGreatestGame got a reaction from GarnachoCheese in Random RumoursThe futile pursuit of recalling Emerson was a fool’s errand from day 1. What were options B, C, D and E? It appears they could get Dest on loan. Why wait?

TheGreatestGame got a reaction from haviet1 in Official Thomas Tuchel *Now Sacked*Apparently Tuechel is brutal in terms of yelling at every mistake or failed attempt by the forwards. No one likes a micro-manager as coach. It can limit creativity and cause players to play too cautious. That also doesn’t help with recruiting new players either as word gets around.
