  1. I think Fellaini would be a red card vending machine in a Chelsea shirt. Also, I'm not convinced Falcao would be a good fit for us. He has the confidence Torres doesn't have right now, but the service to him would be just as miserly as it is to Torres now. We need a striker who can make things happen rather than react to opportunities that may happen. It depends on where we finish and who gets the manager's job in May and how much control, if any, they get in reshaping the team. That said, I think whoever does get it will want to make an opening statement by solving the Torres situation giving Lukaku a season up front.
  2. Yes. This is it. Over time, Hazard and Oscar will climb this list, but No. 1 is safe forever.
  3. Hi, I'm reality. Pleased to meet you. What sort of discussion were you expecting to start with this?
  4. I liked the look of Kakuta to start with. I read something recently that said he needed to learn the defensive side of the game a bit and his loan was doing that, slowly. I don't think it's over for him at Chelsea, but something needs to click to convince the coaches he's the real mccoy.
  5. Rafa's teams always perform the same way - the results are usually good enough to scrape into the CL but never anywhere near threatening a league challenge. He's been brought here to qualify Chelsea for the CL. I don't think anything else is expected, which would explain his nonchalance as we tumble out of other competitions. There's no pressure on him other than to get top 3 or 4. This can't be what Chelsea want in the long term so I reckon there's little chance he can remain after this season.
  6. He always looks lively when he does get on. Ten minutes at the end of the match, usually by which time we're either cruising or battered, isn't a great time to demonstrate what you can do. Especially when our offense has shut up shop and gone home.
  7. Fair play to Pat Nevin for giving both barrels to the BBC before this thing became totally lopsided. At least there's an arse on both ends of the see-saw now.
  8. Jose's having a bad time in Spain. Madrid is a poor fit for him and I don't think he's the kind of guy to waste much more of his time there. He must think back to those great years with us where everyone loved him (even begrudging Spuds fans) and wonder why he's banging his head against a wall there when he could be back here and be adored again? Bruised egos need to be recharged and he knows that would be guaranteed at Chelsea.
  9. Eva as manageress? That could fix a lot of PR issues and results probably wouldn't be affected.
  10. Best news we've had for months. Let's hope the same can be done for Frank so they can announce something positive after the Arsenal match

Great player. We've seen what he can do under a good manager.
  12. There's a massive hoarding on the side of a building in Brno city centre with Cech's face. He's good for another 8 years. Courtois looks good though.
  13. Frank's a class act and I'm pretty certain he wouldn't make that move to Manu. I think LA would be a bit of a waste of his talents at the moment. If he has to go, I'd rather see him go to Italy - for his sakes. The fact is, wherever he goes he will be inevitably be outstanding for quite a few more years. In terms of aging, he's not an ordinary player. He's as potent now as he ever was. The media won't hesitate to remind us of this every time he scores a wondergoal. The easy solution to this is just to keep him. If high wages are the issue, we could dispense with another non-performing high earner and keep Frank. But who?
  14. It's surely a no brainer. We need him and there's no one better. It's difficult (but not impossible) to see the club letting Lampard and Cole slip away at the end of the season. I think Baines, as good as he is, would be a downgrade. It's a shame the topic even exists.
  15. Why doesn't Roman do it? Then he can sack himself and see what it's like.
  16. I see your point, although living in a different country probably had something to do with it.
  17. I've got a mate who's been a blue all his life - he hasn't been to The Bridge since the 70's and we were planning to go to a match this year. Now he tells me he doesn't want to go there, the atmos looks poisonous. He doesn't really care if we win or lose, but when lifelong fans feel rejected by their club, now that's a tragedy.
  18. Under the current regime, whoever does come in as manager will be doing it for the money. Why would you bother having a long term plan when you know you'll be binned after 3 bad results? Unless there is a change in attitude from the top, conceding a bit of job security to a new manager, we could end up being the last turkey in the shop.
  19. Just a pissed off Sturridge having a pop. He's just an angry kid, why does anybody listen?
  20. Everyone's a critic but you do need to work on your sentence structure and try and convey more information using less words. Also, you need to allow your sentences to flow a bit more rather than saying something. full stop. next fact. etc. This should help make your text appear a little more slick. For instance, your paragraph on signing for chelsea reads... Chelsea On 4 January 2013, Ba joined Chelsea for an undisclosed fee. Ba signed a three-and-a-half-year contract, becoming the first ever Senegalese player to join the club. He received the vacant number 29 shirt. Ba made his debut against Southampton in the third round of the FA Cup on 5 January. He marked his first appearance for the club by scoring two goals in a 5–1 victory for Chelsea. and perhaps might read better as... Chelsea On 4 January 2013, Ba joined Chelsea on a three and a half year contract for an undisclosed fee and, in doing so, became the clubs' first Senegalese player. Taking the number 29 shirt, Ba marked his debut against Southampton in the third round of the FA Cup on 5 January by scoring two goals, the first a vital equaliser, in a much needed 5–1 win.

I think he's got the potential. Whether he'll get the support or ends up a victim of yet more manager ping pong before going to Spurs for £2M remains to be seen.
  22. Robben and Duff were more effective, but they were playing in a better team.
  23. If Roman did sell it would be a business decision for profit, not a fire sale and it would probably be to a new owner who shared a similar ambition. So, the club would continue but I doubt anyone could ever match Roman's ambition. You can't have it all - we have an owner who gets impatient when things aren't going well and reacts and a lot of us don't like that. We also have an owner who loves our club enough to push it to levels we only dreamed of and we all like that. Nobody's perfect, but Roman has helped make Chelsea the most exciting, talked about club in the sport. I think he's put too much into it to walk away anytime soon.
  24. I would have to say AVB. He didn't stay in the post long as boss but he did have a great instinct for talent. Some of the great young players we have now were on his shopping list anyway and we was Jose's scout, so must have been involved in some of those aquisitions.
