coombsie
The (growing) rumour doing the rounds in the City, is that Guus Hiddink will become FULL TIME Chelsea Manager on 1st December 2009. The premise is that both Hiddink and Abramovic have "Gentlemens" agreements with the President of the Russian FA that the current deal ends on 31st May. May to December gives Hiddink sufficient time to qualify Russia for the 2010 World Cup and either continue with the role through to the Finals or assist in bringing in his own nominee to take over full time. If he fails he will resign anyway, leaving him free to return to the Bridge. Hiddink seriously wants the Chelsea job full time, but will not break his word to Russia. Abramovic is negotiating with the Russian President after deciding that he wishes to keep Hiddink. Forget Ancelotti Guys, You heard it here first. Tim
Good news I guess if true, but what will happen in the interim? Who will take us through to Christmas?
blizeH
Was it just me who was hugely disappointed to spot that Russia are actually in a very good position to qualify!? :(

PloKoon13
If this is true, this is the best news I have heard for a long, long time. Agreed, but maybe by then the mastermind that is Ray Wilkins will have us in such a commanding position that we won't want him back... :(
geezer
My only reservation here is what the hell has this got to do with the City? It's not as if there are any shares involved. Roman owns the club lock stock and barrel therefore there is no reason for the City to have any inside knowledge of such a deal.
Maksimov
Was it just me who was hugely disappointed to spot that Russia are actually in a very good position to qualify!? ;) No, but I'm more disappointed about it because they're above Finland in the group.
g3.7
but may to december are going to be hugely important to us (obviously). if this were true we'd effectively be conceding the league next season before it even starts.
Tim
Yep, exactly, and I am not happy about us doing that one bit.

Just happened to hear precisely the same story three times in less than a week. One guy has been a very reliable source in the past due to links with Bruce Buck's law firm. I believe this is where it originated. Even Roman needs legal advice !!!

I defintely do not like the thought of Wilkins holding the reigns until December, we may have a start like Spurs did this Season :(

mad_mac
Precisely, and Wilkins played some youth product, and played in a 4-4-2 at the end of his one game in Charge.....Wilkins is our saviour!

loz
Unless he carries on as our part time manager until such time as he goes full time. The difference being that he will have far greater time commitments to Russia than he has had since taking us over fdue to them having a lot more games. dkw
Good news I guess if true, but what will happen in the interim? Who will take us through to Christmas? i tihnk we should have a go as a collective. it would be fun and we can pick who to do the intervies after each game. obviously lofty will get the liverpool games, though the bleep machine might not last too long.... God forbid we draw Leeds for the Carling Cup and it's BlueBeard's turn! I can already see Kinnear's record of 52 falling down. Twice if we can't beat them in the first game. g3.7
I reckon we could do okay for a few months as a group. keeping barak away from the transfers is about half of the job done straight away.
TheWestwayWonder
Oh, and I hope and pray to the almighty that this rumor is true. It would be a bit weird him being here only half the season, but my shortlist for managers starts and ends with Hiddink
