Posted July 23, 200915 yr http://www.tribalfootball.com/anelka-feeli...-chelsea-258801 Man, after his PK in Moscow and just the perceived apathy of him missing it, I was not expecting us to hold on to him. However, after last season, my mind definitely changed about him and I loved to see "Le Sulk" smile and do his butterfly after scoring goals. Good to read an article where someone as moody as Nic says he loves it at Chelsea and loves playing with Didier.
July 23, 200915 yr Nic says he loves it at Chelsea and loves playing with Didier. Hmmm, seems Arsene musy have taught him some bad habits when he was at Arsenal
July 23, 200915 yr It was obvious watching him last season how comfortable he is there (even though he didn't celebrate his goal against Arsenal)
July 23, 200915 yr I have to say Anelka's really growing on me, not just for last season but for the fact that the more I watch him, the better he seems to get. I don't think there is a better alternative to Anelka at the moment in terms of speedy finishers
July 23, 200915 yr I think he is a class act, he has never really settled at a club and I hope he finishes his career with us. I think for someone like Anelka to feel happy at a football club says something about CFC. I think we have a great family atmosphere around the club and with such traditions as singing a song infront of the players for new arrivals and such characters as Billy and Neil floating around the place it is no wonder everyone MOST of the time looks so happy. I think a lot of the fighting spirit we have comes down to this and the fact we have a captain like JT, who is home grown, makes the club that little bit more different. July 23, 200915 yr I think we have a great family atmosphere around the club and with such traditions as singing a song infront of the players for new arrivals Shy football star Nicolas Anelka has told of his scariest moment - having to sing in front of his Chelsea team-mates.It happened when the French international striker moved to the West London club from Bolton in a £15million deal. He was told he had to perform a song in front of the full Blues squad in a 'rites of passage' tradition. But 30-year-old Anelka said he was petrified at the prospect. He added: 'There was more pressure doing that than anything in football, including taking a penalty. I had to stand on a chair above the other players and perform.' Anelka told Icon magazine he chose a French rap number. A source said: 'It was quite a good choice because none of the other players could understand a word of it.' Probably not his best moment, but I'd love to have seen it! Just want to add that Anelka is Avram's legacy! We should all be thinking about that sexy beast when Anelka scores!! July 23, 200915 yr there's no one i like to see scoring more than anelka every one of his finishes is pure class. nothing is thrashed at just dinked in
July 23, 200915 yr The whole last season he felt very comfortable playing for us. He seems very shy and even somewhat humble type to me. I very much want him to stay with us for long. If Carlo changes our formation to 4-4-2 with Drogs-Anelka paired up front it might produce a brilliant season for us. ManU's frontline is new as Ronaldos gone so they might have trouble with it, Scum is strong as long as Torres is fit but they pretty much hang on one card so in that light we might just have the strongest frontline with most depth. Hope both of them stay fit the whole season.
July 23, 200915 yr Probably not his best moment, but I'd love to have seen it! Just want to add that Anelka is Avram's legacy! We should all be thinking about that sexy beast when Anelka scores!! Avram later admitted that Anelka was forced upon him from higher authority but you can still think about him if you wish :P
July 23, 200915 yr Good player, but was ineffective at battering down massed defences and is getting older. Glad we have him though, had my vote for player of the season last year due to getting the golden boot.
July 23, 200915 yr I loved his goal against Sunderland on the last day, to clinch the golden boot. As soon as he got the ball it was almost like he thought, "I'm going to score now" and the whole thing seemed inevitable. Just shows what he can do when he really tries. I'm still not entirely sure on him, but I'm more than happy to give him the benefit of the doubt for the moment. Gets a bit of stick from some corners but it's good to have such a natural finisher in the squad. He scored quite probably the worst hattrick I have ever seen against Sunderland but goals are goals, frankly. I'd prefer to see Drogba as first choice if we're only playing one striker, as I think we play better football with him in the team, but as I say Anelka is a brilliant option to have.
July 23, 200915 yr He doesnt dive. He doesnt keep moaning at the ref. Hes got a great touch. Hes the top scorer in the top league. Hes wants to play for us. Hope hes got 2-3 seasons with us in his prime. Glad to have him with us.
July 24, 200915 yr I think Coco summed his attitued up , he dosent moan or bitch and dosent play dead, he's a credit to the way he behaves on the pitch and he has re invented himself as a player and his attitude has completely changed with regard to ego . As you get older , you get wiser and i feel if he has found the right club , at the right time for himself and for us. Hope he finishes his carreer at Chelsea because i believe he can be a very important part of short term future.
July 24, 200915 yr Coco's got it spot on. If you mixed Anelka's mentality with Drogba's ability you might just have the ultimate striker.
July 24, 200915 yr The Le Sulk moniker was more than well earned by Anelka. He deserved that title for most of his career because of his behavior. He clearly doesn't anymore. Give the man credit, he grew up and started acting like a professional. I'm thrilled that it happened here because I've always admired the guy's talent.
July 24, 200915 yr I was a bit worried when we first signed anelka and seriously concerned after his performances in the 07/08 season but last season all my doubts about him have gone. He is once more a class act and one of the worlds most prolific strikersl In our new formation him and drogs up front will be one of the worlds deadliest partnerships
July 24, 200915 yr Fair play to Nico. He's turned into a very classy player, and has shown real maturity. Many of my mates scoffed when we signed him for £15m, even though i was quick to point out his proven Premiership quality. Not done too badly so far has he? :D Can hardly blame him for that penalty miss, either.
July 24, 200915 yr Great player. It appears he has learned from his mistakes in the past and thankfully for him he has still ended up at the very top. When he disappeared to Fenerbache I thought that would be the last seen of him. It seems his brother has taken a back eat and let him get on with his career. Edited July 24, 200915 yr by bluemoon
July 24, 200915 yr . It seems his brother has taken a back eat and let him get on with his career. im not sure how you do this, but it sounds fun.... :D

I was ready to see the back of him after moscow, too, but he has totally changed my mind. Like Coco says, he just gets on with it, and has become an excellent player for us. If football was full of guys like this the sport would be much better off. And he is my gf's favorite player. Whenever we are watching chelsea and he scores she chants "le suuuuuuuulllk" ;)
July 24, 200915 yr Avram later admitted that Anelka was forced upon him from higher authority but you can still think about him if you wish :o Well at least he gave us Ivanovic...or is my Avram bubble completely burst?
July 24, 200915 yr I have always been a huge fan of Nic, and i was stunned when he joined us. He seemed genuinely happy at City too, which made a huge impression on me. One of the classiest finishers i've ever seen at City. I'd have him back tomorrow. Erm.... well maybe that's not such a good idea eh.
July 24, 200915 yr Erm.... well maybe that's not such a good idea eh. not anymore :o Unless you wanna pay a huge fee for him and loan him back to us a la Jo
July 24, 200915 yr He has been really good for us, especially last season. Don't know what we would have done without his goals.
