Posted October 11, 200915 yr http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11661_5622307,00.html The People is hardly the first place I go to for reliable sports news! I think it is likely to be true though as we cant afford to let players go whilst the transfer ban thing is unresolved.
October 11, 200915 yr not giving kalou a new contract is the best reason to get the best lawyers we can and overturn the ban. hes had 3 years to prove himself worthy of a starting place at chelsea and has never even got close.
October 11, 200915 yr "Signing this deal with Chelsea has freed my mind to concentrate on football," First time for everything I guess.......................
October 11, 200915 yr The guy's simply not a striker. If anything he should play as an out and out winger, but we don't use wingers, so he should go asap. Mind you, if Wenger sees something we don't, then perhaps it's best to let Roma have him.
October 11, 200915 yr I'm not very happy. I don't like Kalou, he is the lowest player in first squad...
October 11, 200915 yr Would much rather Sturridge got the chance. Ok, nice cross at Binfield, but it isn't worth £60.000 a week :P
October 11, 200915 yr If we are to eventually discard kalou i would also like to see him go overseas. I would hate him to go to arsenal and then all of a sudden start showing that potential
October 12, 200915 yr If we are to eventually discard kalou i would also like to see him go overseas. I would hate him to go to arsenal and then all of a sudden start showing that potential Now wouldn't that just be typical if he were to be sold to Arsene and all of the sudden he'd learn to shoot properly, not lose the ball at all times and stay on his feet :P
October 12, 200915 yr For f**ks sake. I am very aware that we have a transfer embargo coming and the need to tie down players is essential but surely we only need to do this to the important players ? I have no intention is picking apart Kalous game AGAIN, all i will say is that what gets me most about him is the way he gets the nod over younger players who seemingly have more to offer. Last season it was FDS, this season it looks similar with Sturridge. I simply do not see what he offers that they cannot, it really is very frustrating and seemingly we have another 4 years of it. Lets not have any of this 'yeah but he is a good squad player to have' rubbish. He is a first teamer. He plays in 80% of our games whether its from the bench or in a starting berth. Turnbull is a squad player, Minero was squad player. Kalou is a first teamer. I just dont see the sense in this, we seem to be signing up our players on fat long contracts for the sake of it. Tell, me what he has done to deserve this ? Please. Someone. Reports are thats its 60k a week too. 60k a week. Jesus wept.
October 12, 200915 yr It is official now! 3 additional years to Salomon.. has played 150 games and scored 31 goals in Chelsea colours. Have to say I'm surprised by both numbers! http://www.chelseafc.com/page/LatestNews/0...1824331,00.html 'I am very pleased that Salomon has signed a new contract with us as he is an important player for this club,' says Carlo Ancelotti. 'He is always well motivated and works hard at his game at all times. Because of this, I am sure that Salomon will become an even more important player for Chelsea in the future.' Well...Carlo is polite anyway..
October 12, 200915 yr so our transfer ban wasn't bad for everyone at the club?...wonder if he was the one that shopped us to fifa?!...thought he was a goner for sure...another kick in the nuts for daniel sturridge...he would have been better off staying at city
October 12, 200915 yr so our transfer ban wasn't bad for everyone at the club?...wonder if he was the one that shopped us to fifa?!...thought he was a goner for sure...another kick in the nuts for daniel sturridge...he would have been better off staying at city Thats possibly quite true. What he thinks when he sees Kalou being picked ahead of him god only knows, but when he sees this i really feel for him. And Di Santo. And any young reserve/youth attacking player at Chelsea. Kalou and his agent must be pissing themselves tonight. More i think about this the more i get annoyed. What next , a 10 year contact for Deco perhaps ? Earnings on a par with JT and Ballack....
October 12, 200915 yr i saw wilkins say on chelsea tv the other night something like sturridge needs a lot of work and reason he's only played six mins is cos he has drogba, anelka and kalou ahead of him...I thought bollox...six mins is a disgrace...sure i didn't expect him to start v liverpool, but when we're cruising against burnley for example, he should get 20 mins...what harm can it do?
October 12, 200915 yr 3 years?? to prove he's fit for Feyenoord or NAC Breda? ...even Di Santo is better choice and we got Sturridge anyway :P
October 12, 200915 yr HaventaKalou is the best player we have , he makes Pele and Maradonna look like sh*te . Week in Week out he runs rings round the defence and never misses the target when he shots ......................................... problem is every time he crosses the white line on to a stadium pitch rather than Cobham it all goes west .....
December 17, 200915 yr After last night I still can't belive this bloke got another contract. It seems whenever Kalou is given a chance he fails to take it. Last night was made for him - playing against a poor Pompey side, and yet he had possibly one of his worst games ever and that's saying something. The invisible man would have shown more than Kalou in that game. And I don't think it's any coincidence that Anelka looked half the player than he has done of late - despite his goal. We are gonna miss Drogba hugely during the ACN, but the one silver lining is that we won't have to suffer Kalou at the same time and hopefully we'll see Borini (and / or Sturridge) get plenty of oppurtunities.
December 17, 200915 yr Let's face it...he's here while the transfer ban is up in the air. If he fails in his chances, when the conjecture is over, we will sell him, and get money for him, because he won't be at the end of his contract and go for free
December 17, 200915 yr Kalou was horrible last night. At the ACN we're really going to miss Drogs and Ess, but Kalou? I'm actually glad he goes away. What I cannot understand is the choice yesterday of starting with Malouda on the bench and kalou up front. I would rather put on Borini, Studge or Kakuta than Kalou.

Not only does he shoot like he's wearing turkish slippers, after seeing him miss that header from 3 yards, I'm starting to think he has a shoe-horn for a fringe!
December 17, 200915 yr I'm not over the moon with this. I dont know what our managers keep seeing in him. I personally think Sturridge is a better player than Kalou and has better end product despite being a number of years younger.
December 17, 200915 yr he's failed to progress since he joined and in actual fact i think he's gone backwards...like i said at the time, the transfer ban saved his bacon, but surely not for long
December 17, 200915 yr He seems like a nice bloke, and im sure he'll probably be quite good at his next club, but I really can't defend his selection anymore, especially when we have other, younger, and potentially better options waiting in the wings. He'll go with a 'thanks' from me, but last night summed him up - one really poor miss and total anonymity for the rest of the game - and that's just not good enough. I know Kakuta and Stoch are still raw and very young, and Zhrikov yet to really get started, but i'd rather see any of those three in the first 11 ahead of him.
