New Interpol album has been announced for September, huge fan of theirs and the announcement for me back in the mood so I've been re-listening to their previous 4 albums.

I wasn't overly into their last album, the self titled one but the new songs they've released from the new album sounds like it could have come straight off of Antics so I've got high hopes. 

Ha ha!  I was baffled - I thought I was in the Musical Connections thread and I was thinking "I'm blowed if I can see the connection"!  Must pay more attention!

I bought this album two years ago but my PC's frequently stubborn CD drive refused to recognize it. I put it aside and forgot about it, but found it again last week and gave it another whirl in the PC on the off-chance that it might suddenly work. Unbelievably enough, it actually did, and I finally had the pleasure of listening to Amadou & Mariam's Welcome to Mali for the first time. It's an absolute masterpiece, I can't recommend it enough:
