Had a phone call from my missus today to tell me some good news and some bad news. The good news was my semi final ticket had turned up in the post today. The bad news was that in the 20 minutes between my daughter leaving for work and the missus getting home from work the dogs got hold of it and tore it to shreds!! Contacted the club who are trying to do their best for me but it appears as though I am not going to get a replacement because the tickets are allocated by the FA and they are hiding behind thier clause 6.2 in the T's & C's where they state they nor the ground owner shall replace any lost, stolen or destroyed ticket. So even though I have some evidence in what remians of the ticket it looks as though I've paid for something I cannot get and there doesn't seem to be damned thing I can do about it.

Gutted doesn't even get close to how I feel right now.

Ouch unlucky geezer, reminds me of the days when i used to tell my teacher than my dog ate my homework and he really did. They never believed me though...

sh*t geezer, that is bloody tragic! Surely quite apart from your shredded remains, there must be evidence on their system of them having sold a ticket to you. You didn't walk in there and pay cash, so there must be bank records proving that they received money from you.

Don't give up! Fight them!

I know you've already kicked up a stink and its too late but I wonder what they would do if you left it a couple of days and phoned them saying it hasn't turned up?

If they say you rang them and told them your story tell them you haven;t got a Dog...they should send them recorded so as you haven't signed for it if you paid by Credit card you might be able to tell them you're going to try to get the card company involved.

Its hard after you've spoken to them I know..it'd take a bit of front but I'd have a go.

I believe they are being sent recorded delivery.

I believe they are being sent recorded delivery.

I thought they were but sometimes the postman just sticks things through at my house if I don't answer the door.

If you used your credit card to make the purchase they will refund you your money, so then all you need to do is source another ticket quickly, maybe some help from other members ?

Also get the dog a muzzle......... and a villa shirt.

Way the sales are going geezer id say youll get another chance to buy tickets.........

Saying that after tonights result a few more may decide to jump aboard the bandwagon :P .....

How many did you lose m8?

Surely if no one was in when the ticket was delivered then the recorded delivery technically shouldnt have taken place, and so they wont have a signature (other than something possibly forged by the postie). Therefore, surely you could argue your ticket never arrived?

also have you contacted the fa ticket office? you'd hope common sense would prevail once you explain to them the situation. I don't see how difficult it could possibly be for them to sort you a duplicate, even if you have to pick it up at the ground.

Are you suggesting that the FA have any form of common sense?

I know it's not important, but Geezer's dogs are ladies!

I'm with Gullit4 on this - in this day and age when tickets are sold there is evidence on a computer of a transaction having taken place, and I would hope that someone there would have the sense and decency to do the right thing and issue a duplicate.

I am gutted on your behalf Geezer. I've already bought a ticket for the semi final myself, otherwise I could've helped you out with a new ticket. Surely there must be a way to get a hold of a duplicate, I mean I know it's the FA but as someone else pointed out, there must be someone in the FA with a little common sense.. Best of luck mate

that is awful news.

Is there no way to patch it together to make it barely legible?

You should put it in writing to the FA and take their emails along with you to the match, get them to confirm your details etc.

Club have failed to get back to me, FA are a bunch of c**ts but friends are precious - I have another ticket on the way courtesy of some of the good people who sit around me in the MHL.

In reply to some of the posts -

1 - the ticket was indeed signed for by my daughter. She left it on the breakfast bar where all our post has always been left forever and a day without any problems. This time for some reason my new dog took a liking for this particular envelope which was sat there with three other letters - two bills and one car brochure all of which were left untouched.

2 - Could it be patched together - er no, it really is a mess. The only thing left legible on the front is 'As' and 'Che'. The remaining two thirds of the ticket are somewhere in the puppy digestive system.

3 - My dogs are not ladies - they are bitches - in the truest sense of the word.

4 - The dog is fine. She's young, she doesn't know any better. I believe it all went wrong when she saw some red on the letter and probably thought it was from Liverpool.

8 out of 10 dogs prefer Pedigree Chum - mine prefer match tickets!

Relieved to hear you have such good friends - you deserve them!

When you talked to me about your bitch, I always thought you meant Mrs O'Geezer!

Glad you'll be there Geez but this still is quite a fecked up situation.

A little story. The day I landed and met up with Beth, we went to pick up our tickets at the office at the Bridge. I had the Wolves and Arsenal tickets to get, and she had Citeh, Blackburn and Star on a stool in addition to my matches. Wolves were handed over...annnnnd...that's all folks.

Apparently the office had decided to mail our tickets BACK HOME, even though they knew we were coming over and said they couldn't hold them for us. Makes sense doesn't it? We were told duplicates would be made and waiting for us at the Emirates.

So fast forward almost two weeks later and wouldn't you know, there I was in the pouring rain surrounded by Goon zombies at their new airport terminal stadium, being sent from one ticket office to the next looking for those stupid duplicates that hadn't been made. All the while my heart sinking believing I wouldn't be able to see my first away match. A few calls were made and it ended ok, walking in literally just as the ball rolled an inch forward at kick off, but these ticket situations blow. Whether it be a mishap, or something out of our control.
