@Sexyfootball Felix was on loan, I might have swapped for Pulisic or RLC both at AC Milan.

But Milan didn't make the last 16 of the CL this year !

They finished 3rd in their group and will drop down into the Europa League 🙂

On Felix, we could always play Werner at LW if we wanted to exclude our ex-loan players

What was the name of the young lad who came through our academy a few seasons back and we sold. Wide player, French, black - thought he could be next Hazard. Was doing well whoever we sold him to but he seems to have dropped off the radar and now I can't even remember his name to look him up!!

Anyone?

Charly Musonda (Belgian)? Got a career-ending PCL injury then came back Sam Hutchinson-style. Currently playing for Anorthosis in Cyprus.

Gael Kakuta? Played about half a dozen games for us and we then loaned him to Fulham.

Thanks Chaps - it came to me whilst I was having a soak in the bath listening to a bit of Gary Crowley...................!!

Jeremie Boga! He's 27 now and playing for Nice. Another one who hasn't exactly set the world alight. The list goes on.............................

Yes he was the one that looked phenomenal yet for some reason never materialised.

Watch: Petr Cech makes his makes his debut for the Belfast Giants

Former Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech has re-signed for Elite League ice hockey team Belfast Giants on a short-term loan deal.

Cech again joins the Giants as temporary netminding cover from National Ice Hockey League side Oxford City Stars.

He made one appearance during his previous spell in November as the Giants beat Glasgow Clan 5-1.

"I'm happy to be coming back to Belfast to rejoin the Giants," said Cech.

"I'm looking forward to getting back on the ice and making more memories this time around."

Cech's cameo in the win against Glasgow saw him make his professional ice hockey debut in front of a sell-out crowd of over 6,000 at the SSE Arena.

Belfast Giants coach Adam Keefe expressed his delight at bringing the Czech netminder back to the club.

"Petr was a great guy to have around the locker room during his last loan period with the Giants, and his experience and knowledge of performing at the highest level is invaluable," Keele said.

"It was fantastic to see Petr make his professional debut earlier this season, and we're, once again, incredibly appreciative of Oxford City Stars' support."

Cech had previously guested for the Giants in Belfast in April last year against Ukrainian side Dnipro Kherson in a charity game which raised over £65,000 to support the continuation of ice hockey in the war-affected country.

He played more than 330 football games for Chelsea between 2004 and 2015 before a further four-year stint at Arsenal.

He won four Premier League titles, five FA Cups, three League Cups, the Champions League, and Europa League before retiring from professional football in 2019.

Cech also made 124 international appearances for his country, playing in the 2006 World Cup and at the European Championships in 2008 and 2012.

After his football career ended in 2019, he began playing ice hockey for Guildford Phoenix before subsequent spells at Chelmsford Chieftains and his current team Oxford City Stars.

We need this man involved with the first team in some way. The way he talks about the standards expected and not letting them drop... we are so far away from that right now it's scary.

I thought his comments on Pochettino (from about 1:30:30) were interesting as well, and probably quite an eye opener for 99% of the posters on the Pochettino thread :-)

Great podcast - thanks for the link !

It's quite staggering that no-one has been prepared to give JT a go as a manager, even at League One level. On face value he seems to have all the attributes you'd need ... I really hope one day he gets the chance to be involved at first team level with us.

He was the defensive coach at Villa and they conceded the most goals in the league during his tenure IIRC.

Happy 40th to a true warrior for the club.

During the league cup semi against Liverpool in 2015, Brana had a massive gash on his foot which left his boot all bloody the entire match. He soldiered through and got the game winner.

Jose then took his boot, showed it to the academy and said "This is how you become a winner".
