Agreed. I think we can do better for that kind of money.

Just in terms of Dembele. I think many more would be on board if his numbers looked a little better. I like the idea of having a false 9 style striker as an option, and Dembele can of course play in a variety of roles. But the question of his poor goal return for a relatively attacking midfielder is a bit of a concern.

Dempsey on the other hand has a supreme work-rate and also has the habit of chipping in at crucial stages with big goals. I think he is a December away in the North kind of player, the kind we sorely need.

I personally think Dempsey might suit us better. But I wouldn't sneeze at the prospect of Dembele either.

Dempsey is already 29 and while he's a good footballer, I'd rather we go for players under 25 to build the team around.

Dembele is a good shout, I like his style and he's worth taking a chance on if he won't cost much, might develop into a solid squad player.

I'm not too crazy about Fellaini, I think Everton is his level.

Another ageist! I personally think that in these days of modern fitness and nutrition that 30 is much less a border than it was. Plenty of players have their best seasons beyond 30. Dempsey will be worth it purely for the competitive attitude that he could pass on to our younger players. A man to lead from the front on the cold away nights.

Matter of fact I think I argued the same point with plenty of people about Scott Parker last summer. Now not only is he England captain, he has been the cornerstone of a very successful Spurs season, and we could have used him to no end.

But again that's not sneezing at Dembele.

Seems like all the french media think that Hazard will be off to United or City. To be honest, I dont think ill be to bothered if we dont get him. Id rather us buy someone cheaper who can do the job, but still someone who will have the quality to step straight into the first team and have a impact straight away. Similar to Mata, who price tag wasn't outrageous.

Adam Johnson would be worth a punt if Hazard heads to the Etihad. Good player, English cannot see the price tag being anyway near City will pay for Hazard.

Sorry that comes across as illogical at best and at worst patronising to Asian football fans. Maybe it would crack the Japanese market, but certainly not across the rest of Asia.

If you look at, for example, Ji Sung Park who is South Korean he is massive all over East Asia, even if it doesn't mean that Koreans/Chinese people will be queuing up in their droves for Chelsea shirts having an East Asian footballer playing for us will give us a lot more exposure over there which can only be a good thing.

I'm not even sure that he is a better version. Certainly not 24m better anyway.

I think with Mata, De Bruyne, Marin and the like we are building a nice little creative base. I'll be interested to see if Kakuta can come back into that and perhaps stake a claim as well.

There is also Benayoun to consider. I personally think we were wrong to shift Yossi on this season, and he could certainly make an impact if only as a squad player.

Hit the nail on the head there Spiller!! Kakuta has had a good season and could come back and do a good job. I can see Benayoun going to the arse as a permenant move, again if he stays would be a great back up for Mata.

Would like to see maybe another 1 or 2 signings already based in the premiership. I wish I could name some names but my mind has gone blank. WIll come back with some who may work at Chelsea.

God no, Johnson is awful.

Not sure which Johnson your thinking about but the one at City is a player I would love to see us sign.

Not awful, but well out of form

I think hes a very good player. for the right price i would love him here he can play left or right and with him marin and mata very fluid attacking base, hes also left footed so can hug the left touchline very much like duff or robben were. If hes not i wouldnt mind chelsea looking at james mclean he reminds me of bale the way he takes players on. Hazard will be my first choice though even though i would prefer a left footed winger.

Its looking likely that Drogs going to leave and with lukaku maybe going on loan we would have only 2 strikers next season and a striker i would like to suggest is Luuk De Jong, apparently hes available for around 12.5 mil very good player in my mind, or maybe even john guidetti at city, hes lit up feyenoord at his loan spell and i doubt hell get a sniff of first team at city.

Fellaini is a good player has an air of ballack for me but for the price quoted id rather javi martinez.

He`s not really been given the opportunity to play into form though has he?

I can't see them selling him on the cheap to us though.

No neither can I, plus with us signing Marin I dont think we will be going after him anyway. Which is a shame as I tihnk if given game time he could be a superb player.

If I could pick any player from Fulham to join us, it'll be Kerim Frei. The guy looks quality.

Still a bit lightweight in my opinion, but has potential. Was the best player vs us in the last dire game.

Dempsey or Dembele are their best players imo.

If Felliani turns out to be as good as Ballack then I would take him. Yes Ballack had some poor games but I still think he was a great player to have in the squad/team. When JT and Frank were injured a few years ago I thought he really stepped up. If not Felliani what about Axel Witsel from Benfica, I thought he looked a good player and again reminded me of a Ballack type midfielder.

May get slated for this but what about Jordan Rhodes? I know he is a lower league player but he is still young, think he could mould into a great player he is already a top finisher. Anyway just a name to put out there!

Unlikely to get a game though. Be better he went to a championship side 1st.

It's such a huge jump from League 1 to the Premier League.

Beckford tore it up down there, and aside from that goal he scored against us last season, he never really got going at the elite level.

I'm not sure what our approach is going to be regarding strikers. If Torres has found his mojo then we might not need another one, even if Drogba leaves. Sturridge and Lukaku are reasonable young backup players.

But I'd be suggesting we will be investing in someone. Though I'd say they are likely to be a bit of a flexible option who can play a little deeper if required. An Eidur for 2012 would be ideal. But of course there aren't too many like him about these days.

Italy could indeed be a good place to shop, especially if we make the CL for next year.

Juve and Milan will be in the CL, but the 3rd spot is currently wide open between Napoli, Inter, Udinese, Lazio, and maybe Roma.

Let's say that Inter win out and make the CL, that would leave some big names missing out on the CL. All of Napoli's players we're pretty familiar with, but Udinese have Mauricio Isla, Palermo have Josep Illicic, Fiorentina have Jovetic, Roma have several young attacking midfielders like Pjanic and Lamela, etc. Not necessarily saying any of these guys are necessarily the solution to our problems or would work well in the PL, but there could be some good value over there on teams missing out on the CL.

i would also put abel hernandez of palermo there.. only started about 10 games this season but is a striker with alot of potential... if were on about players in italy kwadwo asamoah plays there for udinese and every time ive seen him hes impressed, then theres players like cristieg and giovinco.. Ive also heard good things about torje and ljajic
