August 31, 201213 yr I'm satisfied with the signings we've made this window. I'm just worried that even though all that money was spent, Hazard is the only one to feature in our starting lineup. I know it takes a while for new players to integrate, but I don't see Moses, Oscar, Azpi or even Marin becoming starters anytime soon. We are using the same squad that finished 6th in the league last season. The only real impact addition to our first team (so far) was Eden Hazard. I hope some of our other signings can get good amounts of playing time sooner rather than later.

We wouldn't find a player to start over our back 4 of Ivan, Luiz, Terry, Cole. Our attacking options are pretty set, Torres, Hazard, Mata are starters for sure. Ramires IS a starter. He was one of our best players last year. Mikel and Lampard are the only ones that could be/should be taken out of the starting 11. Oscar can play the Lampard spot and the Mikel spot is always debated. (Peronally, I don't think there is a holding mid AVAILABLE that would take out Mikel.) There really isn't many players that could be taken out of the starting lineup.

I would suggest trying Oscar or Ramires alongside Mikel in the double pivot. Clearly Lampard (as much as I love the guy) can't play every game considering his tendency to slow things down when he is on the pitch for too long. He should be saved for the bigger games in my opinion. In addition, It really bothers me that Robbie is content on using Ramires on the right wing rather than playing Moses or Sturridge there. Ramires should definitely be played centrally, otherwise he is going to look like an average player at best, which is such a shame, because Ramires is an excellent player if used correctly. I understand that it is difficult for our new signings to start a lot of games, but I would just like to see more of our new signings, rather than seeing them replace anybody. September 1, 201213 yr being an arsenal fan on transfet deadline day is like being a mslim kid at christmas. Rest assured... I spent the holiday season in Kuala Lumpur last year and let me tell you those Muslims were getting down with the Holiday spirit... So being an Arse fan on deadline day is worse!
September 2, 201213 yr Not sure if it's been mentioned already but apparently Loic Remy had a medical at Chelsea but his minor heart condition turned out to be more of a problem than CFC first thought. Probably just a rumour but very feasible, remember reading somewhere that Remy had issues joining Marseille from Nice because of his heart. If true it's a shame because he's a very good player with the potential to be absolutely class.
September 2, 201213 yr Interesting. It would explain Gigi's comments, and also Danny's late addition to the squad.
September 3, 201213 yr Ballacks a free agent, with the sale of Meireles could be worth bringing the german back? Hes old but hes got a lot of experience and I miss that german.
September 3, 201213 yr Can anyone explain what Gigi said please? She said just before transfer window closed that there "might" be some news.
September 3, 201213 yr She said just before transfer window closed that there "might" be some news. Cheers mate.

September 6, 201213 yr Great player? Absolutely! Great personality/attitude? Not really. Worth that much money? Doubtful. Still, having a front four of Ronaldo, Mata, Hazard and Torres doesn't sound too bad. But of course this is just a silly rumour.
September 6, 201213 yr Oh dear, thats an early contender for mental rumour of the decade isnt it. The financial side of it is interesting, even though the initial outlay is crazy money I wonder how much he is worth to a club in merchandising ways. Just how long would it take to recoup that kind of money in shirt sales etc.

September 6, 201213 yr And the added likelihood of trophey's, like him or loath him Ronaldo is a match winner.
September 7, 201213 yr During interview on Talksport Rooney's favourite player........JT.....bet Rio's not happy with that one..
September 7, 201213 yr Chelsea have renewed their shirt sponsorship contract with Samsung for two years, but with surprisingly little publicity. The deal, until the end of 2014-15, is understood to be worth around £18million a year but the Korean electronic giants waited until after Chelsea’s Champions League triumph before agreeing the contract on the deadline for taking up the option. September 8, 201213 yr Why is our deal so much less than Utd's? 18 Mil a year compared to 50? They're a much larger brand globally and they negotiated a deal with a new sponsor. The gulf wouldn't be as wide if we had found a new sponsor, but it was always going to be there considering that they have a higher net worth than Arsenal and us put together.
September 8, 201213 yr I very much doubt Man Utd are making 50 million GBP a year from the Chevrolet deal purely for shirts. Im sure if that is an accurate figure, it involve making Chevy the primary sponsor on all club activity, branding, and outlets. And the figure is dubious at best (thanks daily mail). FT has it placed at "Almost 600 million USD" over the course of the deal. I'm sure the vagueness of the numbers are due, in part, to City's strange deal with Etihad. During interview on Talksport Rooney's favourite player........JT.....bet Rio's not happy with that one.. Dont forget Rooney also said Ashley was the best lad on the England squad and that he would take a bullet for him. Very clear the England boys keep a tight circle.
September 8, 201213 yr Dont forget Rooney also said Ashley was the best lad on the England squad and that he would take a bullet for him. Very clear the England boys keep a tight circle. I think it's more likely that Wayne and Ash are just close mates. Rio's actions during JT's trial don't lend themselves to the circle, as a whole, being all that tight. On the other hand, Rio is a huge mug, perhaps he's an outlier. Edited September 8, 201213 yr by That Boy Brandinho
