Pretty poor window all said but now that some information is beginning to leak it might suggest we just couldn’t get our primary targets out of their clubs.

I heard that we went in for Murillo from Forest at the start of the window with a bid that would have been Forest’s record sale by a distance. Also Dortmund wouldn’t sell their keeper (Kobel) in this window either. The silence regarding a striker makes me think it’s Delap we want.

Hopefully deals for at least two of them have been partly done now for the summer window.

Almost ticks all the boxes:

- 21 years old
- History of muscle injuries
- <50 senior career starts
- >£50m transfer fee (pending Diarra outcome)
- Plays a position in which we need reinforcements

 

Bad luck, maybe we should try to sign Gerónimo Spina instead. 

A midfielder under 6 feet tall, with limited experience, and who doesn't score any goals and has minimal assists ... for a huge fee ... what could go wrong LOL. I imagine we would also quadruple his wages to make him doubly impossible to sell to other clubs when he inevitably bombs out ...

 

    i thought the idea was a production line of talent at this point. 

    - sign cheap

    - send to Strasubourg

    - bring to Chelsea when ready

     

    If we're spending big money again, why are we getting someone young that we probably won't make a profit on? Just sign someone that's 25-28 that will actually help us now. Have we not learned from Enzo Fernandez? Even Caicedo, who is currently one of out best players, we'd probably struggle to shift for a profit.

    Good effort to be sure but it speaks to the quality of - or lack of - goal scoring in the Championship. Burnley themselves have scored 43 in 34.

    We’ve signed another 17 year old Brazilian without a senior appearance. What a massive club we are.
