May 12, 20179 yr I'm sure that there was an album made of our 1970 FA Cup win over Leeds. It was from the bbc radio match commentary. There was an advertisement in Shoot magazine in the 1970s the company sold big match cine film and LP recordings of the FA Cup Finals and other major matchless. There might have been another LP with our 1971 ECWC win match commentary.

I used to get Shoot as well. 34 minutes ago, Boyne said: I remember having a conversation with Osgood, during the days he used to do his hospitality bit in the Chelsea Hotel 98/99. I asked why they used to call Tommy Baldwin "sponge"......because he could drink us all under the f**king table, was his answer.

Not sure who did the commentary (Kenneth Wolstenholme?) but it was brilliant. After Webby's goal - "Away to my left is the most amazing sight you will ever see in your life. The whole of that covered enclosure is a moving sea of royal blue and white." Used to give me goose bumps every time.

After the drawn game, we couldn't stay for the replay because everything was prebooked. As most of us were skint, we had to leave on time. My memories of the game were sitting underneath one of the floodlights and getting invaded by moths as big as pigeons, and Ossie's dream of a volley.

Memories of that day a little vague now, but honestly cant remember seeing any Stoke mobs of 'lads'. Seemed to be all families there for the day out?.
May 13, 20179 yr At least we had the 'Blue is the colour ' Chelsea song recorded before that 1972 League Cup Final v Stoke City!

May 14, 20179 yr Blue is the colour was one of the first songs I cam remember hearing as a youngster.
May 14, 20179 yr I remember singing it with my grandfather when i was 'helping him' in the garden. I was 5 at the time!
May 14, 20179 yr I remember the Black Rose, my ex- will never forget it after the chorus of, 'Get your txts out for the boys'. That was her first match. A great atmosphere there in the 90's.

The song has a good feel to it and I particularly liked this bit: So cheer us on through the sun and rain Cos Chelsea, Chelsea is our name. In those days as most of you will recall terraces were frequently uncovered so you did get wet or hit by hail.
May 14, 20179 yr Copied from the club website. Taken in our last home game in season 76-77. Played Hull
