Gerry Francis on left. When he moved to Palace in 79 we played them in a pre season ' friendly' at Selhurst. Not so friendly in the Holmesdale which we took.

He'd obviously put on some pudding close season. Bloke next to me was laughing his head off ' Look at the size of fat cat Francis, he's as big as a ....... house. Can you believe he used to be England captain'....

Regarding the aggro in the previous pic;- there's feelings amongst QPR's older lot that we took liberties with them in the 70's, and had we not done so they would have joined up with us for big games such as West Ham { West London together if you like}

No idea whether this is true or not, but never thought of them as a ' sister' club, the way West Ham think of as Orient for example.

That pre season friendly? We got ambushed after the game by a crew of Palace in Whitehorse Lane, as for QPR , they always had a team from the estates round there , even if they weren't " football" ..that Everton " county cutters" book mentions it too.

We agreed amongst ourselves afterwards not to mention the Palace embarrassment to anyone!!

The Liverpool v CFC photo is from 85, a 1-1 draw, Keith Jones and Jerry Murphy in the photo.  Pat Nevin equalised for us after a typical dodgy penalty for them.

Guilty as charged, back of the tea bar that night having arrived late.  The atmosphere had a strange feel to it that night.

Yes, a dodgy penalty for them. Missed the start of the match as the bus driver taking us from the station to Anfield got lost. Remember that there was a load of Rangers fans at the match. It was a few months after we played them to raise money for victims of the Bradford City Fire.

My mate works on the estate where Dennis Wise grew up apparently his whole extended family are mental and so is the whole area and my mate is no shrinking violet. If Chelsea played QPR now if anyone thinks we could take the piss like we used to would be in for a big surprise like Millwall found out recently.

We played them at home early kick off on a Saturday maybe 7 years back now. I bumped into a QPR mate outside, who told me after the game they were all mobbing up on The North End Road. Never thought of him as a fighter, think he tagged along for the buzz. Saw him a while after, he told me it kicked off proper and realised he wasn't he wasn't cut out for it; reading between the lines he got a slap.

Not sure how things work out if we played them now.

Wasn't an early kick off I was at the game also mate a couple of QPR mates after don't know about any trouble there was in 2008 in the cup they had a decent mob that day. They have a lot of game youngsters now and would more than hold their own whoever came down to LR.

I was at the 1975 whl game. I'm pretty sure that's the Paxton Road end and they are Spuds fans having some fun with the old bill. I was stood a little to the left out of the picture, please correct me if I'm wrong. That wasn't one of our greatest away days.

I would say you're 100% right. I worked with a bloke in 83 he was about 10 years older than me said the whole day was a nightmare. Thing I remember most was Ray Wilkins missing a sitter.

1975 Main contingents of fans travelling from Liverpool Street were locked out. The gates were shut early due to the weight of attendees, I just got in and the turnstile gates were closed. As far as I can remember we had 2 goals disallowed, ended up isolated in a Spurs section below the shelf, miserable day all round.

That's right gates closed about 2pm just after like you I gained entrance. Thousands of Chelsea locked out, very few in the ground, as you say a nightmare all round!

It was awful, we were all over the place didn't have any large group together anywhere, we got booted from the back of the shelf ended up down the front towards the right side. The story was that loads of Chels were locked out, dunno where they went cos 7 sisters was lined with groups of Spurs giving it to us.

sh*te day from start to finish
