I've posted before that the last picture ( the players with the thank you banner) is from our Good Friday game V Liverpool, 16th April 1965.

We won 4-0 in front of 62,000.

These photos are captioned as Gate 13, CFC v West Ham Sep 84.  My memory is the dust in Gate 13 was before kick off?

I was opposite on the benches but don’t remember this! Thought that season Gate13 was packed every game. Only remember trouble down the front of the shed and North stand?

That was about 2.15. No doubt about it West Ham were the top firm in London as far as London derbys. We were better up North- took more ends, took bigger numbers generally. Funny how things even out. Come mid 90’s we’d go to Upton Park, take over pubs. Circa 2002, Cup Replay, we had hundreds of chaps milling around- Canning Town before the game- not really my scene, and Spammers I know say they’d all kind of retired by then, however we kind turned the tables on them

Edit: banning orders started to kick in around then, and you were prohibited from being a certain distance from the ground. Canning Town must have just fell outside radius. Lots of banned peoples friends also fell by the wayside- “ Well Charllie used to pick me up and drive to The Bridge, now he’s banned, so I’ll spend Saturday trawling round Sainsbury’s with the missus” etc

Must have been first season of West Stand as opposed to the West Terrace. Loved the old West Stand. Ugly but quirky

Hello mate.

I must have put the wrong date, cos you can see the west terrace is still in view.

Obviously this was near the end of the season, it was a few weeks after Liverpool knocked us out in the semi final of the Cup at Villa Park.

I remember we all thought we were getting a stand along the side like at Highbury or West Ham, with a stand above terracing.

I read a Millwall fanzine once which described the west stand as looking like something out of Eastern Europe.!

Bloody cheeky coming from fans from the Old Den !
