March 31, 201412 yr NO NEED.....Chelsea High Street doesn't exist !! You're right of course, it doesn't. Maybe it did in 1952. Alternatively, Kings Road has been referred to as "Chelsea's High Street". Or maybe the bloke who wrote the original caption cocked it up.

April 7, 201412 yr Brilliant Rover's pic and cutting. Was there right in front of bobbies halfway up.
April 7, 201412 yr Great Pic I was there that day and got kicked out when the fence went over and was lucky not to get nicked
April 9, 201412 yr Brilliant Rover's pic and cutting. Was there right in front of bobbies halfway up. I can do better than that. I'm actually in the third picture down. While I'm at it, for the benefit of the bloke who wrote here that in the Attendances thread, the answer to the question of "where we we when we were sh*t" was "at home or down the pub" - speak for yourself mate. Like many others on this site, I was here I was there, I was every f**king where,. Home attendances may have reached an all time low, but away games were as much fun as they ever were.
April 9, 201412 yr Not sure mate to be honest.looks really full in the East Stand, Borota in goal. Could you have taken it against Newcastle or Fulham 79/80?

Look at some of the attendances in the Championship now, we took half that to away games. No real records back then. With people on turnstiles pocketing money by keeping foot on the pedal, accurate att never known. Look at home games late 70s early 80s certain games looked like more in the ground than stated.
April 9, 201412 yr Re the picture, not sure but to me it looks mid 70,s kind of 74 -75 ish. I think we are attacking so the keeper isn't Peter B ,it is the opposition keeper.our number 11 could be bill garner .....difficult one to call and I may way out ....
April 10, 201412 yr dwhat is the game Carshalton? fulham 76/77. the 55003 game? looks like a good crowd
April 11, 201412 yr An indication perhaps that the problem of drugs in football has been around for longer than most of us suspected? 20th February 1932: George Barber, O'Dowd, Law, Alex Cheyne and Pearson of Chelsea FC make light work of a training session in the run up to their FA Cup tie with Liverpool FC. Chelsea won the match 2-0.

April 13, 201412 yr Wow that West Terrace must have held thousands. Anyone know how many it held? I reckon 30,000 it's huge. I know they used rumble from the Piccadilly line to make the west terrace. Bit of useless information for you lol
April 13, 201412 yr fulham 76/77. the 55003 game? looks like a good crowd I was at that game but I think we were wearing the wing collared kit by then I cant make that out in the picture. Maybe its from the season we got relegated. Didnt Liverpool have an away kit in those colours?

April 13, 201412 yr This picture really puts into perspective what a monster stand the East Stand. Such a great stand aesthetically, in my opinion. Part of a great, albeit sad story for the club.
