February 24, 201610 yr Be good in the new stadium where the museum is going to be 3 times the size of the current one, if they had a section of fan related memorabilia.

February 25, 201610 yr Backbiter: Yeah and gradually teams then went 'missing'. In others words they were hovered up by my mum ! Along with the odd Subbuteo player Edited February 25, 201610 yr by erskblue
February 25, 201610 yr Backbiter: Yeah and gradually teams then went 'missing'. In others words they were hovered up by my mum ! That was the first thing I thought when I read erskblue's post!
February 25, 201610 yr Beerqueen: Glad it wasn't just me then. Back then (say by the first week in Sept 1977 ) all over the British Isles, teams would 'go missing'... I don't think I ever did the Division 2 teams even for as long as a week, apart from when we were there.
February 25, 201610 yr Barqueen: My old man had The Observer' delivered on a Sunday back then, as he liked a decent read of the English football. So I would have á chance to update my League tables (when I could be bothered), when he'd finished reading it. I usually just stuck to Division 1 and Division 2 when we were in 2. February 25, 201610 yr The year I was 12 I kept a folder in which I updated all our results, teams and stuck cuttings in from the newspapers. I still have the folder - maybe I should donate it! I also have a letter from about the same era from Chelsea giving me permission to get the players autographs after the match. Oh and the photo of me with Ken Swain after a sponsored walk to raise money for the club! Imagine, a sponsored walk! Edited February 25, 201610 yr by Beerqueen
February 26, 201610 yr A sponsored walk to raise funds for the club ! How much Chelsea have changed, as has football on general since those days.

February 28, 201610 yr Not CFC but still Chelsea related. Eric Liddell (Chariots of Fire) at the British Empire versus United States of America (Relays) meet held at Stamford Bridge, London on Sat 19 July 1924
February 28, 201610 yr scott: What a great picture of Eric Liddell. This race was shortly after he won his 400m Gold in the Paris Olympic Games of 1924. My grandparents saw him run at Cappielow Park,Greenock certainly in 1923 and 1924 and also a few times at Ibrox Stadium at the Rangers FC Annual Sports Meetings in the early 1920s.
