After I had bought a seat above, I never went back to standing at Goodison.

In 78 when that picture was taken it was still the original terracing which went under the seats as well, we was on the left hand side Everton were on the right with no fence between just a couple of coppers they thought they would chuck a few things chant Everton and we would scatter we just charged through the Old Bill scattering them soon there was a lot more Old Bill suppose they thought we would run out the back like everybody else did in them days

One of the best games I've seen, well second halfs anyway, that 45 mins could be argued changed the course of our history, we went on to win cup first in 26 years and the rest is history as they say

The benches rocked that day.
January 29, 20179 yr A record crowd in 1907 when the Blues beat some team from south-east London by 'the odd goal in three'.

Given that people have started wearing flat caps again perhaps the club will start selling them. Found this picture earlier. Is a bit fuzzy but some great players.

Funny thing is I was in shed that game, and didn't realise anyone got sent of till I got home, and the sending off was in the first half!!! We lost 2-1 and when I got home all the little scrotes who were TV dipper fans were giving it large, but back to the sending off, in true Wenger style, " I did not see it"

Doesn't say when the photo was taken but I think you're right about the year. Found a clip of the cup game against the Dippers and he wasn't sent off. Also found this about his playing career at Chelsea. Sent-off three times including in the "infamous" game against Sunderland in 1985. What a night that was. http://www.stamford-bridge.com/player.php?id=519&surname=Speedie&firstname=David

But we were down to 10 men, unless we had two injuries (only 1 sub in those days), I just know I didn't realise we were playing with only 10 men for an hour or so, now thinking about it did Colin Lee and Kerry get injured? O'well I was just a dopey 16 yr old at the time ( now a stupid 47 yr old!)
