May 22, 20224 yr Athens 71 and not sure of the year but the old west terrace was bloody massive. I remember going to Charlton for the first time the massive side terrace completely dwarfed the rest of the ground.
May 22, 20224 yr After today's game we went to the Atlas pub. Got chatting to a fellow Chelsea fan whose father was Reg Williams one of our former players who played and scored in the game against Dynamo Moscow in 1945. Great to have a chat with him and see pictures of Reg Williams.
May 23, 20224 yr All these recent pitch invasions when was the last time we were involved in one disregarding Sunderland and Boro. Was it home Wolves 94 and away Villa 91 I'm not going to google old seasons for reminders can't be arsed with that. Fulham away 2005 I think it was doesn't count either 😁

I was in the old West Stand and I remember pitch invasions.

Definitely in the bracket of fighting pitch invasion and it wasn't a mass invasion I'm thinking about celebrating pitch invasions I do think Wolves 94 was the last I could be wrong of course.
May 23, 20224 yr I recall Millwall in 94 and I was in the Lower North. Another was Villa away in 91, Villa were near the bottom of the league and drew 2-2 after the match they came onto the pitch. Now some were just celebrating and some wanted trouble and then hundreds of Chelsea went out to meet them. Trouble was narrowly avoided and another band grabbed Ken Bate and hoisted him up and ran around the pitch with him hoisted up and chanting his name. I didn't get involved in any of it, I was tempted to yet also realised it was a fast way to get a criminal record if you were unlucky.

May 25, 20224 yr We didn’t have them 84/85. sponsorship was from Boxing Day until last game of season 83/84

My addled brain forgot we were sponsorless for a good while. I was at that Liverpool game two. Very little segregation in The Annie Road End. They all came over snarling either just before or just after kick off. Very young, loads of cagoules and bad skin on display.

Don't remember buying them from a tout; back at those glorious pay at the gate days you could pretty much sit where you wanted- wasn't it just brilliant when you could get a phone call from a mate on a Saturday morning " so and so's driving up to Sheffield, d'you fancy it..." Back to that game, we'd only just sat down when I saw this herd of raggamuffins heading over and I remember saying " Heads up, we might be in trouble here" PJ from Kennington " Not with this lot behind us we wont!" Cue load of faces on average 8 years older and 3 stone heavier! Happy times
