Xbox One ordered and coming tomorrow. Comes with AC Unity and AC Black Flag. £279.99 from Amazon and not even on sale.

Amazing how Microsoft have now made it cheaper than ps4.

It's mainly because they've ditched Kinect.

The system went from being always on (connected to internet) and huge functionality with Kinect to the stripped down version they sell now.

They've essentially had to abandon their vision for the console in the wake of poor reception from the announcement and considerably lower sales than the PS4 despite arguably having the better choice of games at present.

The fact it's had over a £100 price drop in a year tells its own story but it's good news for those who wanted the new console but couldn't afford it initially.

Not sure what, if anything, abandoning Kinect at such an early point in the console's life cycling means long term but from what I gather it's not really being marketed as an "entertainment hub" anymore and they're putting more focus back on the games, especially after closing down  Xbox Entertainment Studios (which was to make original TV programming for Xbox Live subscribers).

Black Flag is a cracking game, make sure you play that first. The tropical setting, being able to board pirate ships and generally loot and pillage is a lot of fun. Make sure you play this one first.

It all goes serious and more difficult in Unity. A good thing, certainly, since the combat was laughably easy in BF.

Yep pretty much. Its perfect for me because I had a 360 and wanted a next gen console mainly for gaming, ideally an Xbox One. The price cut by taking away Kinect has made it possible for me to get one. And it still has decent entertainment features anyway.

BF is the one I'm really looking forward to. Videos of it on youtube look really good and it has great reviews.

Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number confirmed for release on March 10th.

I am very excited for this.

That's great news, can't wait for this. I just have to decide which platform to get it on, PC or PS3.

I found the game played really well on the Playstation Vita, the touch screen meant you could tap on the enemy you wanted to lock onto and you could hold you finger down and drag the screen to look around, made it quite easy to function and allowed fast game play too.

Managed to A+ all the levels and complete all the achievements that way.

I played it on PC last time and from what I can remember it played very nicely with mouse/keyboard controls, it's been too long since I've played it to remember anything specific though. I'd probably go for the Vita version if I had a Vita for the reasons you mentioned, but right now the PS3 version seems most appealing as long as it's not much more expensive.

Nice job with the A+s by the way, I would never have the perseverance (or skill, for that matter) to achieve that.

Anyone who's played AC Black Flag. Do you remember when the Jackdaw became available? I've done the prologue and a mission and want to know when I can just sail away and explore.

Really enjoying my Xbox one. I've done a fair bit of AC Black Flag now but yet to start Unity and the entertainment features are also good.

I bought a subscription to EA Access so I have Battlefield 4, Fifa 14, NFS Rivals downloading and will download the others sometime.

GTA V, Forza Horizon 2, COD AW and Shadow of Mordor are games I'll be getting in the near future.

I need to look at other games to get as well, I like FPS, RPGs, racing games, stealth/tactical games. Pretty much everything in fact, so I look forward to seeing what new games there are as I'm typically a year or two behind, rarely getting new games out but right now I just want to play the best games on my new console.

Still enjoying Dying Light, quite a long game, don't think i'm even 50% through it yet.

Might also be getting to that time of year when a Mass Effect marathon is due.

I picked it up on Friday, only played about 3.5 hours so far but I'm enjoying so far.

I quite enjoyed Dead Island and so with the added free running it's making for quite a good game.

Very hard to take on the zombies for me right now as it's taking a lot of hits to put them down so I'm running away a lot.

I have to say though that after unlocking the drop kick ability, drop kicking zombies off of roof tops is very satisfying.

PS4 + game of the month - Abes oddysee remastered

Deal of the month - The Last of Us remastered - £19.99

4 games in total included in PS+ this month because of Cross Buy,

Newly released OliiOlii 2 is included which scored a 9/10 on IGN this week.

So a pretty good month for games for any PS+ subscribers although I'm unlikely to play any of them much myself as I've only picked up Dying Light last Friday, Hotline Miami is coming out on the 10th and Bloodborne is coming on the 27th.

Evolve is already sub £30 which says it all really.

Despite good reviews word of mouth and user reviews still have a big sway on game sales.

There's a lot of people who have bought Evolve and been really underwhelmed by it.

Personally I'm not a fan of online only games, they're too dependent on other players for your own enjoyment.

Evolve is really fun for a few days, then it gets boring. I was looking forward to it for over a year, very disappointed that it's not as fun as I was hoping.

Just looked so 1 dimensional from the get go. Also looks like one of those games that is a million times better if you have enough mates to fill the game/team. (5 with evolve?)

Love the Abe games, mad game.

Xbox one free game is rayman legends, and its outstanding. Ea access vault now has new NBA and madden games free.

Abe's Oddysee is a masterpiece, I didn't know they'd remastered it - any good?

It's a full remake rather than just a HD upgrade, a lot of care went into apparently.

Worth a look if you was a fan of the original.
