Luiz backs AVB, encourages Frank to do same

Featured Replies

This was reported by goal.com also. I disagree. This is exactly what we need. We need our players behind our manager. We need the team to buy in and if there are players that don't, then they need to go or sit the bench. Our future captain, Luiz, tells it how it should be. Lampard needs to stop throwing AVB under the bus and obey. He needs to stop complaining about every little thing and play. If he doesn't buy into the system then he can sit. The difference in opinion is hurting the team. I love lamps but he isn't above the team.

He's absolutely right. Footballers in general seem to forget that they're nothing more than employees of the club. They should shut up and do their jobs.

Good shout from youmg David and that really shows this boy has confidence, future Captain there I'd say.

I think the world of Frank and I'm sure he can take constructive critisism and sure he must realise that its best fr the team if he listens to the younger but possibly wiser head of David.

These are the words I saw quoted and I hope that and Ivans words last week are helping to smooth things over:

Defender Luiz has publicly backed Villas-Boas' stance, telling Portuguese newspaper O Jogo: "No one has to be someone's father or son in a football club.

"There are no privileged people there. He [Lampard] simply has to listen to the coach when he gives orders and take them.

"No player can forget that they are just an employee of the club."

He [Lampard] simply has to listen to the coach when he gives orders and take them. "No player can forget that they are just an employee of the club"

This could be taken out of context mind you, the sentence still makes sense with out Lampard's name being thrown in the mix. When he refers to 'he' it could be any player in the club or just players in general. I'd like to see how he is referring to Lampard.

My first thought too.. how much of this is tabloid translation given that the interview was in Portugese

I think he is having a dig about Lamps and what he felt about Mourinho myself. In my opinion both should just keep their heads down and do their jobs. Lamps moaning to the press about not starting every week, but also Luiz shouldn't be questioning the vice captain in public. If he wants to show public support, do it how he is supposed to, on the pitch.

No, I don't think so. It just gives people a clue as to what's going to be in the thread. Which is quite useful, really!

He is quoted as saying it, its not 'a source said' its his words and although he did use 'he' and not Frank I'd say its a fair enough assumption for the press to make even if he was taliking about someone else.

If that is him on Twitter saying its media talk then perhaps it is, I just wish someof the sh*tethat gets put in the media about the Manager was discredited so easily.

How about the part where he is directly uoted as saying ""But Andre has an immense capacity, he is an excellent person and I am sure he will have a great future at Chelsea."

Surely I can put a bit of stock on that before we disprove it can't I?

Luiz should concentrate on making his own game more consistent and avoiding some of the ridiculous f**k ups he makes rather than making assertions about other squad members.
