December 30, 201213 yr LAMPARDf**k YEAH He came and saved the mother f**king day yeah Edited December 30, 201213 yr by Bobbywoodhogan
December 30, 201213 yr We would be insane to let him go in January. Simple as that. Lets be honest, we're not exactly the know for our level headed, rational decision making
December 30, 201213 yr Lets be honest, we're not exactly the know for our level headed, rational decision making The board offering a 1 year deal to a 34 / 35 year old player who is on huge wages is level headed if you ask me. I see no reason why they shouldnt offer a 1 year contract with an option of a second year, but i dont think it should be a fixed 2 years off the bat.
December 30, 201213 yr If the man is given another season I'm sure he would break the record. I think he may still do it before May.

Professional athletes here in the States are always signing incentive laden contracts with club options to add a year or so on if they deem fit. How do we know Lampard is asking for the same wages. I would like to think that Frank knows he isn't going to get that payday. They should be offering around 60-80K per week. For me that is fair for all parties and we supporters get to see our legend walk off into the sunset... Of course we have really no idea what Lampard is willing to accept but I would like to believe he is willing to play out another year or two at Chelsea than play in the MLS or China on a larger payday.
January 2, 201313 yr Author Ah yes sorry..bit slow this morning... it's 10 to match the record, 11 to beat it! If he continues to get lots of game time I think he will have it done within 2-3 months tops. Edited January 2, 201313 yr by Zola
January 2, 201313 yr Does anyone else think that some of the stuff on this thread is a bit disrespectful to Bobby Tambling, and even to Kerry to a degree? Frank is one of our greatest ever players (in fact i voted for him as our greatest in the last poll on here) but his contract shouldn't be influenced by the scoring record, as some seem to be advocating. If Frank breaks the record i'll be pleased for him and he'll deserve it, but if he doesn't i'll not be disappointed because Bobby deserves it too. Football clubs have never been emotional about keeping players on purely on past achievements, despite the fans having formed a bond with someone and being loathed to let it go, because if they did the club/team would stagnate very quickly (as we did to a degree a few years back) Frank deserves a contract for sure, maybe something similar to Giggs & Scholes, year on year and based on appearances, and i would suspect a far reduced salary to what they previously commanded. We don't know what's going on behind closed doors. It could be that the club don't want to offer him another contract whatever the terms (a mistake i believe) but it could be that Frank or his 'people' have made it plain that they want something more than the clubs policy dictates. I wouldn't blame Frank for wanting a longer contract, and a last big pay day, but caning the club for it is way off the mark until we know.
January 2, 201313 yr Does anyone else think that some of the stuff on this thread is a bit disrespectful to Bobby Tambling, and even to Kerry to a degree? I don't feel I'm being disrespectful, I'm just excited at the prospect of seeing history being made. If Frank breaks becomes our all time top scorer, so be it, but that shouldn't be the reason to offer him a new contract. It should be done because the club feels he can still do a job and I do think he can, even if he's not a sure starter anymore. --- Well, anyway... This thread's supposed to be about Frank's goal scoring record. He's currently on #192 and (no disrespect to Tambling or Dixon) I hope he scores again tonight. ---[edit]--- By the way... I just noticed that Frank has 24 FA Cup goals. Tambling's record is 25. Edited January 2, 201313 yr by Maksimov
January 5, 201313 yr Hopefully just thanks for the support! Couldn't watch the game but just great Lamps scored! Our Chelsea legend!
January 5, 201313 yr Frank Lampard The LEGEND, sorry if this has already been said but he is now our POSTMAN he always DELIVERS..
January 5, 201313 yr This might be old, but I only saw it for the first time this week Harry was bang on the Money
January 5, 201313 yr Have to ask: which record did he break by scoring today and which ones is he still chasing in terms of scoring?
January 5, 201313 yr Isn't he even with Kerry Dixon's tally, although he has played more games than Dixon, so I guess he would need to score one more to 'go above' him? Some less reputable sources have been suggesting that the club might be making a U-turn on his contract and look to extend it, hopefully it is true http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2257760/Chelsea-make-Frank-Lampard.html?ito=feeds-newsxml
