February 18, 201313 yr Roman was at the game yesterday. If he wasnt convinced to offer Frank a new deal yesterday then we might as well just accept we will be saying goodbye to Chelsea's greatest ever player in the summer.
February 18, 201313 yr Author I think Roman is going to give him a new deal, but I am convinced he will wait until he breaks the record. The smile on his face yesterday when Frank scored to me looked quite telling. In my opinion his body language suggested he was thinking "Here we go again, this guy keeps on doing it, how can I not give him a new deal!" My expert analysis is possibly clouded by wishful thinking, but I just got the feeling yesterday that Roman has warmed for a new Lampard deal.
February 18, 201313 yr Remember when Frank was given his current 5 year contract. It was a MASSIVE announcement by the club, CFC TV exclusive the whole shabang! I reckon if they are going to grant Frank a new contract it's going to be this all over again, maybe a 2 year deal or something. On his current form I just can't see how they can justify letting him go...
February 18, 201313 yr I cant see how they sacked out Champions League winning manager but they did and then replaced him with a man who we hate.
February 18, 201313 yr Today's goal makes him Chelsea's all time top scorer in the FA Cup! Not only that: Lampard has now been involved in 24 goals (scored 15 and assisted nine) in his last 25 appearances in the FA Cup.
February 18, 201313 yr Remember how West Ham fans used to mock us, for paying 11 million for him...ha ha ha

February 18, 201313 yr I don't care how much it costs me, i am going to every Chelsea game until he breaks the record, there is no way i am missing it Hopefully he achieves it at the Bridge.
February 18, 201313 yr I reckon it will be against WestHam the club who have given him more stick than any it's almost written that it will happen that way.
February 18, 201313 yr Time for number 200 on Thursday? Will he even play on Thursday ? i would rather we keep him fresh for the game against City. We should have more than enough to beat Sparta Prague without him.
February 18, 201313 yr Will he even play on Thursday ? i would rather we keep him fresh for the game against City. We should have more than enough to beat Sparta Prague without him. With the interim waiter in charge, we might well see him played on Thursday, but then left on the bench against City.
February 18, 201313 yr With the interim waiter in charge, we might well see him played on Thursday, but then left on the bench against City. Trust me when i say that wouldn't surprise me
February 18, 201313 yr Taken from The Times: John Terry refuses to be silenced over Lampard’s merits John Terry claimed yesterday that Frank Lampard has much more to offer Chelsea and admitted that he is refusing to think about the prospect of his team-mate leaving Stamford Bridge. The England midfielder scored his 199th goal for Chelsea in Sunday’s 4-0 FA Cup win over Brentford — and is three behind Bobby Tambling, the club’s record scorer — but has not been offered an extension to a contract that expires at the end of the season. Terry has not spoken about Lampard’s future since being reprimanded by Chelsea for writing that he would be devastated by his departure and urging the club to retire the No 8 shirt on his Instagram account last month, but his stance has not changed. The captain is adamant that Lampard, 34, has several more seasons in him at the highest level and believes that a player whom he regards as an inspiration should be allowed to finish his career with Chelsea. “I am not even going to entertain him leaving,” Terry said. “I don’t even want to think about it. He has got so much more to give and he is an inspiration to everyone at the football club. Still, at his age, he is the best trainer by a million miles. “He works so hard and for him to get that many goals is incredible. It is down to a lot of hard work before and after training, working on his strengths and his weaknesses. “I think that you can see he has always been very fit naturally anyway. That’s despite the hard work he puts in before and after training. We all hope that’s here, but, if not, he has certainly got years ahead of him.” Terry also argued that it is down to Chelsea’s players to alleviate some of the pressure on Rafael Benítez and that the Spaniard can silence hostile fans by winning matches. The 32-year-old noted that the dissent almost disappeared during the second half of the fourth-round replay against Brentford when Chelsea scored four goals in the space of half an hour. “The fans pay their money, so they are entitled to echo their thoughts,” Terry said. “All we can do is concentrate on our jobs, and that is winning games. If we can do that, it completely takes that away. We won and I didn’t hear much. “It falls on us again because if you’re winning games, the atmosphere gets taken away. If you’re losing games, the pressure is on the manager. He has to take responsibility because he is the one who picks the team. So if we are not winning, naturally with all managers it falls on his head unfortunately. “But if we’re winning games, and hopefully as a group of players we can do that, it takes the pressure off him and the fans can concentrate on winning games.” Terry is adamant that he is 100 per cent fit after recent knee problems and is hopeful of keeping his place for the Europa League round of 32, second leg at home to Sparta Prague on Thursday.
February 19, 201313 yr http://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/378657/Frank-Lampard-closing-in-on-new-Chelsea-deal Speculation... A source.... Oh well, I'll cling onto any positive news that he's staying, even if it is probably made up. Chelsea chief executive Ron Gourlay is expected to sit down for talks with Lampard and his representatives over the “next week or so” to extend his career at Stamford Bridge. Rumours swirled around last week that a new deal might be in prospect, only to be furiously denied by those close to Lampard, because at that time nothing was on the table. But now the Daily Express understands Lampard has been told that the club are at last ready to open talks on extending his £150,000-a-week deal, which ends in June. A Chelsea source said: “It is my understanding that Frank has been given an indication that the club are to offer him a new deal, the details of which are yet to be discussed. “Everyone at the club will be delighted if he stays.” Everyone at the club will be delighted if he stays A Chelsea source The fans once again sang, “Sign him up” before and after Lampard scored a club-record 36th FA Cup goal and his 199th in all for Chelsea – leaving him now just three behind Bobby Tambling’s all-time record. John Terry, Lampard’s team-mate for the past 12 trophy-filled years at Stamford Bridge, said: “Frank has so much more to give. He is an inspiration to everyone here. “He is the best trainer at Chelsea by a million miles. I am not even going to entertain the thought of him playing for another club.”
February 19, 201313 yr I was just looking at the individual awards Lampard has won and i was shocked to see that Lampard has only won 4 Player of the month awards. Surely for someone as consistent as him should have won more than 4 player of the month awards.

February 19, 201313 yr Well, he's the player of the decade(the last one), so I think that makes up for it. Ha, boom.
February 19, 201313 yr Can't help but feel these rumours of a new contract offer are just the medias way of spinning this story out and filling another back page.
February 19, 201313 yr He's gonna get another contract, surely. Nothing is ever a certainty at Chelsea... ....And don't call me Shirley.
