Rumours are circulating through the internet that we are looking to sign Manchester City's defender Micah Richards. 
I don't know what to think about this. I think we have enough Defenders at the moment and i dont rate him that highly to replace him with any of our defenders.

Now this is indeed a very strange one. We already have two perfectly capable right backs, as well as several youngsters and players on loan, adding to the fact that we need to improve other areas of the team first, this would make absolutely no sense IMO.

Exactly, he isn't anything better than Dave or Branna and we have enough youth players comming through the ranks for that position. Why spend money on him when we should sign another striker ?

Was this because he was at the Chelsea game last night? I was under the impression it was because of his off field friendship with a couple of the QPR players. I doubt very much he we'll buy him.

I read on the internet that i will be the new Chelsea manager in the summer and my first thing to do is sell Torres to anyone who will have him. I know this because i put it on the internet.

Would seem very odd given his close relationship with Sturridge who has just left. 

Wud be a good addition imo, hes young and hes english.

With Luiz movin up to midfield and Terry injuried we dont have alot of choices left atb.

We should also remember hes like Ivanovic, fully capable of playing both CB and RB.

Always considered him a poor mans Iva, doesn't make sense with the form Dave has been in this season.

I've always liked Richards but i call bullsh*t on this one.

Richards was a very promising youngster a few years back, and I wanted us to sign him then. His career hasn't progressed as well as anticipated though, but his strength and pace might prove an asset to the team. He can play RB and CB, so he could become a valued squad player.

 

Having said all that, I think it's all press bollocks again!

I regard Richards as a big-time Charlie, a bad egg, and a poor professional.

To me, he is a better CB than Richards and has a lot more potential. If Richards is been looked at for fullback then I wouldn't complain too much as long as he doesn't get in Bruma's way.

 

He played 4 games and looked head and shoulders better than everyone else before he got injured, lost his place at HSV and Netherlands and is only now getting back into the setup by playing U21 matches for Netherlands and fullback for HSV.

If i remember correctly...did'nt José try to sign him in 2006?

Plus he's injured at the moment, out until the end of next month at the earliest..seems a strange one to me, file it under BS

Bruma wont be getting near our first team any time soon....he is fairly poor.  I put Bruma at a level below the likes of Robert Huth and not good enough for this level.

 

Micah would be a decent addition to the squad. Versatile, strong, quick, young and English.

The only reason to get him is because we'd get an English player into the squad to "replace" Sturridge. Other than that, he wouldn't offer us anything we don't already have.

Exactly my point. If he can't get into the Netherlands senior side, who don't have any real top class defenders, then how can you say he is better than Richards who is in and out of and England side which has tons of high quality defenders ?

Tons of high quality defenders? Which England side is that? Surely it can't be the one with the likes of Joleon Lescott, Chris Smalling, Kyle Walker, Glen Johnson, Phil Jagielka, Ryan Shawcross, etc?

 

England's best defenders by far both play on the left side, which wouldn't affect Richards. The fact that he can barely get a look over some thoroughly mediocre RB/CB options doesn't bode well for Richards.

 

As for Bruma, I like what I've seen of him at Hamburg, but injuries have not been kind to him. Whilst Richards is a better player at this very moment on the basis of his Premiership experience, it's not a stretch for Bruma to develop into his equal, or even better, in a few years' time. For that reason and the fact that Azpilicueta has impressed me, I have no interest in Richards.
